Down on bended knees

The reason behind his parents separation was never a mystery to Charles. He promised himself never to be like his father, knowing how infidelity ruined his childhood but it was easier said than done.
Charles grew into a young man trying to avoid the lifestyle his father once led but the harder he tried,the more he was pulled into it. He couldn't make any relationship last due to his wandering eyes he cheated without considering the feelings of his partners and neither did he accept responsibility for his mistakes. At a point, he began to convince himself that his behavior was normal, after all his father did the same. Perhaps there was no need to change himself, maybe it was his destiny. Later on, charles got married but his conscience was already dead, so he kept on having affairs. His wife begged to him on several occasions to stop. Until his wife caught him in the act one day. She locked the door, picked up a knife and attempted to stab him. With nowhere to run, Charles went on his knees and pleaded for forgiveness but he should have known the kind of woman he was married to.
