There has always been a division in the black community between those who choose non violent resistance and those who sought equality by any means necessary.

America knows this and has always tried to play the two against each other. Often times elevating one above the other. The truth is they are both dependent on each other.
For if the day ever comes that peaceful protest is meant by attack dogs and fire hoses again. There are those militant brothers and sisters on the fringes that will rise up and wage a revolution that will not be televised or taught in any history book.

The civil rights struggle consisted of many organizations and not all were non violent resistance. Fear of reprisal had as much to do with the Civil Rights Act as peaceful protest.
