I'd love to read a book where Dave Meyer (Joyce Meyer's husband), Pastor Taiwo Odukoya (Pastor Bimbo Odukoya's husband) and other such men who are/were married to hugely successful and popular women in ministry shared their thoughts. Even from those who are/were married to career women such as Ibukun Awosika, Dora Akunyili, Oby Ezekwesili etc.
Someone like me longs to have a very fulfilled and accomplished woman but the very common order i see especially among African couples is that the woman MUST not seem to be richer, more anointed, smarter and influential than the man else the marriage will come under intense strains.
My questions to these men simply are these:
How do you do it? How does it work being married to a woman who is known by everyone while you're not? How do you maintain a healthy ego and esteem of yourself knowing that your surname is as popular as it is largely due to your wife's public success? How do you play your role as the leader of such a home when financially and in other ways you're not at par with her? How does your bedroom work?
Or should one just settle for a woman who should not aspire or accept to be more than her husband?
These are some questions I need answers to. Feel free to share your thought.
Will you love to marry a woman that will make your family name ring a bell?
Will you love to marry a woman who is more famous than you?
