Farming not hunting

In the past, as long as the law allows, you may hunt a bird. You may hunt a deer. You may hunt a lion. While hunting may still be legal in some jurisdictions today, hunting is against the value of mankind. Hunting is cruel. Hunting is inhumane.

But why then we are hunting a CEO, a VP, or a mobile app developer?

As a startup, I don’t use headhunters. Hunting a future teammate is too cruel. And I don’t want to be hunted by headhunters either.

I don’t use headhunters, even we have sufficient funding to do so. This is not just a matter of cost.

If time is a non-renewable resource, you should spend it on the most important thing. As a startup founder, what is more important than building your early team?

You won’t have your product and your clients without your people.

If time is non-renewable, don’t spend it on hunting headhunters.

No more hunting. Sow your seeds of reputation and reap when they are mature.
