If so far all this noise about microtransactions, prey boxes and Electronic Arts monetization methods at Star Wars Battlefront 2 have kept you away from the game, you can buy it without worrying because DICE has announced that with the new update (2.0 ) to the game all the characters and ships are unlocked. Star Cards are removed from the chests, and there are only cosmetics left in them. This change complements the new system of levels for characters, classes, and ships - all the ships/heroes will bring you skill points as you progress from your experience (which accumulates through gameplay). These points will let you either unlock the Star Card or upgrade it. Accordingly, all-star maps and weapons in the arcade mode to the Epic level are now unlocked, and the arcade level itself can be used more freely - like a boxbox and try out new combos, summed up by GamingBolt. This, as they say from DICE, will make the game more interesting for those who are not in the multiplayer.
There have also been a number of other changes and improvements, fixes for minor errors that have been reported.
