The Red Scare

Joseph McCarthy once
went on a tear

Frightening children, ladies
and grown men too.
No one knew quite what to do

Intellectual
Contamination.
We must root them out
to save our nation

became a red herring.

neoliberalism
We maintained the walled city
and German Schism

Some wars in Korea
and Vietnam;
we armed the rebels in
Afghanistan.

Turns out the red scare
was just an excuse
to profit from wars
and keep taking the loot.
