The Red Scare
don't you dare
Joseph McCarthy once
went on a tear

Frightening children, ladies
and grown men too.
No one knew quite what to do

A A Serious Face

The Ruskies had invaded
our minds and our homes.
Hollywood even, and
the writers of poems

Intellectual
Contamination.
We must root them out
to save our nation

Although, in the end
they weren't so scary.
Economically their threat
became a red herring.

To push our ideas
neoliberalism
We maintained the walled city
and German Schism

Some wars in Korea
and Vietnam;
we armed the rebels in
Afghanistan.

Turns out the red scare
was just an excuse
to profit from wars
and keep taking the loot.

Thanks for stopping by my fourth #statewars entry, in a state wars situation, I would want Joseph McCarthy to be on my side! Although I'm not sure I would be on his side....

I haven't done the famous person one yet... I may just settle for 4 outta 5 ;)

4 out of 5 ain't bad! As long as we get the Dogezer article out ;p

Like you said, now I'm rhyming even in my daily conversation! Its turning into a super power!

You're becoming a regular Dr. Seuss.
