It's been a while since I did one of these, last time I did it was to debunk the narrative that everybody was heading for the doors and steemit would be nothing but an empty shell.
The red line is important in that its those of us that keep coming back for more and what is interesting about it is that it is slightly more than 50% of our all time high period of just 3 weeks in August.
The blue line represents people that visit the site but don't stick around. Interestingly the gap is larger than at all time highs.
That speaks to conversion potential and why we see so much focus in the road-map on converting visitors into users.
Converting just a couple of % of those visitors per day will lead to sustained platform growth and an upward trend.
We are actually seeing growth in the USA (red) and a slight drop in Europe that is explained in the next graph.
Africa and Oceania are neck and neck these days.
Europe is dipping slightly because of our Russian users heading over to golos, as can be seen by the dipping blue line, while the other areas of Europe remain the same.
Interestingly the final graph also shows growth in Southeast Asia and Eastern Asia.
In the first graph, does the blue line mean total new visitors who did not stay, or total new visitors who created a profile with password, and did not stay?

At the very least the rapid decline in return users has stopped and growth has begun, albeit slowly. As efforts in promotion begin more heavily I suspect we will see much larger and more steady growth. Thank you for putting together this analysis for us all to see @gavvet.

This indeed looks more stable today, which I understand as a good sign for a restarting growth too.

Agreed, the foundation of something great is being laid and consolidated.

Great analysis. Very helpful. Honestly, the retention has been impressive, given the low Steem price and the fact that the product is still in development. Plenty of hope for the near future!

Yup, we need to be very careful of narratives vs the real facts.
What really impresses me is that at these low steem prices we are actually growing... which would be apparent in the overall baseline if the Russian users were factored in.

I fully agree. It's unbelievable how much we are not only holding steady, but actually growing right now. That just proves how poised this thing is to explode once Steem/Steemit bursts out of the gate and into prime time.
