Cybiko Repair

Well, that was fun... I had to open up my sealed Cybiko because I needed to check everything worked, but it turned out that the batteries leaked and they leaked all over the contacts! Luckily, with some vinegar, cotton buds, kitchen towel, and isopropyl alcohol, I was able to clean up the contacts, but I, unfortunately - due to slight roughness and the fact they weren't soldered on terribly securely - ended up having 2 wires disconnect from the speaker (but remain connected to the system board, and have one of the battery wires disconnected from the system board which need to be soldered back on properly, but at least it still works!

AC adaptor connection is a bit shaky though, which means that I have to be relatively still when using it connected to the mains! I'm after buying a second one to help work out where the wires should go (as well as also allowing wireless networking between them both), but the batteries are gone on that too (despite being new - though I hope it's not a repeat of what I had to deal with just now), so I've ordered 6 of the batteries they use, after having to search for a short while because they're not easy to find, and initially it was going to set me back 9 quid a battery, but I found what I think are the right ones on eBay for £3.77 each from Hong Kong, so I bought 6 (2 for the Cybiko here, 2 for the one I'm getting soon, and a spare pair, or rather a pair for the Extreme that I'll soon be getting).

I'm going to have to wait till June/July to get them, but hopefully, they're the right ones, as 6 of them did cost me a fair chunk of change!
