An ideal person desires that his effort translates to tangible improvements in all facets of his life; he wants more money for his investments, promotion in his work place, if he works out at the gym, he wishes to get commendations, see the effect in his looks as well as general health and if he writes, he desires that his audience are glued to their seats and always expecting he puts pen to paper very often. In a nutshell, man wants to be better off today than yesterday.
Now, this is normal and well pleasing to God and even the devil. For God expects you to grow in Grace and knowledge...(II Peter 3:18). The devil too expects you to grow in wickedness, that is why in his kingdom he promotes those who are unrelenting in wickedness.
However, there exist a dogged resistance within and outside the man, how this opposition is responded to, has differentiated the few successful people from the rest. I know most successful people have never told the complete story of how they failed, made mistakes and almost gave up at some point but truth is, you hardly find an aeroplane flying 3000 feet or more up there that didn't spend time on the run way; they were down at a time. One major difference between the successful ones and those that have been successfully relegated is they didn't accept the status quo.
They saw a need and while others thought it was Unsurmountable and should be accepted as the status quo, they walked up and fixed it; they invented the electric bulb, build cars, aeroplanes, ships, rail way, came up with theories, developed their talents and were involved in countless other actions that has made life better because they didn't accept the lie that the status quo can't be altered.
The world has and will continually respect and celebrate those that will go against the boisterous tides, effect changes and come up with innovations that will defy the "status quo maintenance folk" whose actions in the process will add meaning to life.
I'm Orish and I just believe whatsoever makes life uncomfortable should be tweaked and replaced by an innovation from one who is no respecter of the status quo.
