HUMAN WISDOM AND GOD'S WORDS

in steeemchurch •  5 years ago  (edited)
Human wisdom originated right from when Adam and eve ate of the tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden; the tree of wisdom of good and evil. God knew what was going to happen and that was why He told them they were going to die the moment they ate of the fruit from that tree.

Human wisdom is impure and it exhibits characteristics such as partiality, discrimination and does not also yield a lasting result. God never wanted man to depend on what he knew because what man knows cannot save him. God wanted us to totally depend on Him and His written and spoken words to us. Ever since human wisdom set in, we many a times try to lean on our own understanding about a particular thing or occurrence, not paying attention or considering and standing on what God said or says about that thing.

Human wisdom is not bad; applying head knowledge in certain things is not a bad idea but it is bad when we tend to depend on what we feel we know. Man’s wisdom is foolishness before, the more wisdom God says we should acknowledge Him in all our ways. Man’s wisdom could originate from fear and any wisdom coined out of fear does not usually yield a lasting result.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17)

God wants us to constantly depend on His words and the wisdom that comes from Him. The wisdom from above is pure and applying it will always yield good and lasting outcomes. Man's wisdom does not seem to see afar; it is limited to the now and that's why it's results is not usually lasting.

Purity: God’s wisdom is pure whereas man’s is impure. Man will always think of himself alone and hence, will tend to do what favours him first even at the expense of others. Take a look at what Jacob did when He went to meet Esau his brother after he had robbed him of his due blessings. He arranged the people with him in a manner that will only preserve those he really loved and cared about. He sent the maids and servants in front of the line and thereafter Leah and his children followed by himself, Rachael and Joseph. He applied his own wisdom and we can clearly see that impurity in his acts.

Impartial: The wisdom from God is impartial; God will never tell us to do things that will favour one and not favour the other. Only man is capable of doing such. Man will always do stuffs based on how he loves one over another. Partiality will be seen in what man does. Going back to that Jacob’s scenario and analogy, we still see exhibits of partiality. He wanted destruction to first reach those ones so he and the ones he really loved could take to their heels when it happens.

Friends, let’s go back to God’s words and not put our dependence on what we know, because what we feel we know will definitely fail us . God’s word is a firm foundation and will always tell us to do what is right and good for everyone.
