What I ate in Cardiff - Day 2 😁

Hello!

As I continued in my Cardiff trip- I went out to eat in more places. One of those places were...

The Simpsons Café!

… Located in a Primark?

Primark is a big clothing and home ware/decoration shop in the UK, it's most known for their low prices and various collaborations with big brands such as tv shows, movies, cute characters and more!

When walking past the signs for the Simpson café, I was confused as to why there was a café there, as I've never seen a Primark do this before. I later found out that they've done this before! Some previous novelty café pop-ups being: Shrek and The Grinch.

Apparently, these are apart of a company that does novelty "experience" cafes, this is their Instagram page

This is a close up of the menu they have. As you can see, there's a QR code at the bottom of the menu with a link to their Instagram page.

We did chose a bit of a bad time to come, as we were quite hungry and tired, and we always find it difficult to navigate through Primark as they are a bit overwhelming due to the bright lights, busy atmosphere and heat.

I chose to get The Club Toastie, which had chicken, bacon strips, lettuce and (a lot of) mayo. This cost £6.95, which is roughly 42 STEEM.

I also got the (decaf) Iced Latte with vanilla syrup- which was £4.50 which is around 27 STEEM.

I didn't really like my toastie as I felt like they overloaded it with too much mayonnaise, so every mouthful was a bit of a challenge when nearing the end of the toastie. I found the texture a bit awkward to get through, unfortunately.

I did really love my drink, though. Whenever I feel hot and overwhelmed, a nice iced drink heals me, lol.

My friend got The Loaded Toastie which had- sliced beef, cheddar cheese, pink pickled onions and rocket leaves! This was the same price as my toastie, so it was £6.95 which was about 42 STEEM.

For her drink, she got the Chai Latte with whipped cream, shortbread crumbs, and fudge pieces- which looked DELICIOUS. I was a bit jealous haha😭. Her drink cost £4.25, which is around 26 STEEM.

My partner ended up getting the Butter Bacon waffle, which had bacon, butter, caramel sauce, fudge pieces and whipped cream... wow that sounds tasty! This cost £6.95 which (like our other food items) is roughly 42 STEEM.

Like me he got the decaf iced latte, but with caramel syrup! This was the same price as mine, that being £4.50, which equals to about 27 STEEM.

All together our meal cost us £34.10 which is roughly 205 STEEM. (I think)!

All in all, I definitely don't regret going, but I shouldn't have had as high hopes as I did before going in. I was excited because I had never been to any sort of novelty café (from what I can recall) so I was expecting a bit more... but then again, this was located in a Primark, so..

I thought the café would make a bigger deal out of the iconic pink donuts that the main character in the Simpsons, Homer, so dearly loves. But instead they were quite small in size only inside the glass cases as the payment till.

We did also feel a bit sick after our visit, but I think I'll credit that to our long walk there and the heat/stress we were under from being inside a Primark, which was sensory hell for us, lol.

My friend and my partner both weren't too keen on their food either, due to the texture and the waffles had too much going on and not much of the actual waffle itself which was disappointing …

I am being a bit dramatic, so it really wasn't all that bad. I don't think I'd go again though!
