Introduction
The Project is developed by the @knircky & @famunger. Steem-Bounty allows user to set the bounty for their post to increase the attraction of users on steemit social media platform.
"What is bounty?"
So, the bounty means a reward amount in SBD or Steem which has set by the post writer or any other for post & To be paid to the contributor of the post. (Contribution - Upvote to Post & Comment below Post.)
Methods of Creating Bounty
There are now two ways to create bounty. One is that in which we send amount to @steem-bounty with URL in memo & one is with the help of official website of Steem-Bounty project which had been launched one week ago. I am going to give the guides of the both way in this post.
- Manual Transfer Method
- By Using Website with the help of steemconnect.
Guide
1. Manual Transfer Method
- Step 1 - Getting the URL of the post:
Simply go to your blog & open the post for which you have to set bounty. Then copy URL from the URL Box.
Step 2 : Go to Wallet.
Step 3 : Click on Transfer
Step 4 : Enter the "steem-bounty" username in To section.
Step 5 : Select the STEEM/SBD.
Step 6 : Enter the amount of which you have to set bounty In Amount section.
Step 7 : Copy Link of your post & paste in Memo section
Step 8 : Click on Submit.
Step 9 : To confirm transfer click on OK.
Step 10 : Sign in again.
Hence the Bounty is set by you. You will get the comment from @steem-bounty account of the bounty has been set by you which will be as follows :
2. By Using Website with the help of steemconnect.
- Step 1 - Go to WWW.STEEM-BOUNTY.COM
- Step 2 - Login to your steemit account at www.steem-bounty.com with the steemconnect.
Step 3 - Go to Editor
Step 4 - Enter Title, Content & Tags.
Step 5 - Set Bounty amount.
Step 6 - Click on Post.
- Step 7 - Complete the transaction with steemconnect.
Hence the Bounty is set you can see message of it on page.
How to vote for contributors?
80% of the bounty is distributed according to the votes from the bounty creator or author. If the creator votes for more than one comments then relative % of the vote determines the distribution. In other words, bounty creators vote with their % sliders. This is to allow the bounty creator to distribute most of the bounty. This give simple way to author how much give to each contributor. How this 80% bounty works I had tried to explain with the help of following graphics design.
20% or the rest of the bounty is determined by votes of everyone else that voted on the comments. The weight of each vote is determined by the "rshares" or the effective vote values as they are displayed by steemit (those $ amounts you can see next to the votes as shown below).
Payout/Reward of Bounty
After 7 days of the creation of the post (Remember Post, not a Bounty) @steem-bounty will tally all the votes on comment by bounty creator & everyone else then payout will be distributed to the contributor automatically. Contributors would get at least 0.001 Steem or SBD depending of the currency of the bounty set.
@steem-bounty will also provide a corresponding Memo with transaction of bounty to your wallet and post under the winning comment. Example is below.
- Memo with the transaction :
- Post under comment :

Thank you for your effort in writing a guide that is straight to the point. It is definitely simple enough for new comers to use. You wrote about @steem-bounty is a way to increase the attraction of users on steemit social media platform. I felt that @steem-bounty is more than that. It is meant to increase active participation especially in giving quality comments to the article written. We have seen many comment bots earlier months. @steem-bounty is one way to ensure that comments are made with certain quality so that they can be reward with an upvote for a reward by the author. Authors are given the power on how they want to distribute the reward.

Nice detailed guide!
I got a question about that laptop picture: Since I saw them from time to time and think they could look really good in certain posts (like in yours right now) I was wondering if there is some sort of tool / website to set them up easily or do you photoshopped them?

@laconic has set 1.000 SBD bounty on this post!
What is a bounty exactly?
A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.
You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.
How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

That will be easy I know but, it make the post to big which will be boring to read. That's why I have given gifs which decreases the size of post.

Great work @laconic. The work you did in explaining is well-appreciated. Steem-bounty is a nice initiate since does not pay anyone for making comments. We can spread the news and help all steemians to to the nice opportunity they have to make comments and earn.
