Introduction

I am not sure about you, but I grew up with traditional newspapers. The ones that the newspaperman delivers right to your house. One of the first few things that I would do each day is to turn to the comic strips. We have Calvin & Hobbes, Charlie Brown and our very own Lat cartoon. It always brightens up my day. In High School, I turned to reading Archies and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It was fun, and comic was readily available at the local newsstand.

I always wonder who are the guys behind it and how they manage to come up with cartoons after cartoons. Won't they run out of ideas?

Meeting @sireh

It wasn't till recently, I got to know an amazing man known as @sireh. Turns out we have the same passion. We used to take part in design competition and we have both won cars before. He was an over achiever, he won 5 cars. I merely had my hand on one. That was how our conversation started. Then I learnt that he was in the creative multimedia industry. He used to work for a local comic/cartoon company that publishes 'APO'.

I introduced him to steemit and it wasn't before long, his drawings became a hit with us all. We simply love him. How can you not love someone who gives you something like this?

Soon, he got hooked and the story spread like wildlife. He was making good money posting on a social media platform with some appreciative audiences. The first person who jumped into the bandwagon was none other than @rehanrhapsody. His art was captivating...more into the comic genre.

A New Community

We gave this whole thing a thought. If steemit is about creating a healthy ecosystem where creative content can thrive, here there is a healthy growth of good talents such as @anasgallery, @pinstory, @coloringiship and @fr3eze. Noone ever rejects a cartoon. Its built in our instinct to instantly fall in love with cartoons. We decided to name our community #steem-cartoon.

We have no intention to make this an exclusive group. This group is an open invitation to all artists out there, if you wish to have your artwork discovered, please use our community to help boost your presence. We know first hand how tough it is earning an income through design and art so we are here to support each other. Let's be selfless for once.

Our community does not discriminate you based on reputation, Steem Power (SP) or the thickness of your wallet. Our community is here to appreciate your work and help you in anyway possible.

I had a dream when I was in school, I want to be a watch designer and I have 30 different designs which I am quite proud of. It was even showcase in a local art exhibition. But, the idea of designing and drawing was a little too hard for my Asian parents to accept, so I did what every Chinese parent expect their child to do. I became a lawyer.

In this platform, I have met many passionate people with amazing eyes for beauty and art. It would be a waste not to pursue that dream. It wasn't long before these group of talented artists joined us in our community building.
