Steem Cartoon : The Power of Cartoon

I was honoured to be part of the crowd that attended this talk. It consists of comic enthusiast, students, academicians and cartoonist from around the world.

The speakers for the event are as follows:

Prof.Dr. Muliyadi Mahmood : He is a well respected academician specializing in Cartoon and Comic. Many of his books, journals and academic writing has become my main references for my academic research.

Datuk Lat : Malaysian Cartoon Icon. He is also someone I look up to and he is my inspiration. He is an inspiration to many people who aspire to draw because he is charismatic, iconic and carries himself very well. Above all, he works very hard.

Mr. Hassan Abd. Muthalib : He has this tag as the Father of Malaysian Animation. He produced the 1st Malaysian Animation titled 'Monkey and the Mousedeer'.

Professor Dr. Muliyadi who went on sharing the history of Malaysian cartoon and how cartoons are interpreted by its audiences and its perception amongst the public.

Then it was Datuk Lat sharing his experience drawing cartoon his entire life. His cartoon, Kampung Boy was produced and translated into more than 20 languages worldwide.

Then it was Pak Hassan's turn to share his experience in animation and how the layers and visuals play an important part in capturing the public's imagination.

4 individuals on the stage that inspired me to become a good presenter (abgmie), a dedicated researcher (Prof.Muliyadi), a well known and iconic image (Datuk Lat) and as a person who is knowledgeable to experienced (Pak Hassan)

I was invited to have lunch and I am seated next to Datuk Lat by Datuk Lat himself in the VIP Table with the Museum Directors together with Prof. Muliyadi, the Malaysian Comic and Cartoon Club Presiden, Pak Hassan and others). What a great honor.

Yup... it was awesome! A validation of the power of cartoon from the perspective of the higher public institute.
(next time just say hello kalau terjumpa kt mana2 kartun event ya... :) )

For sure. U were busy and didnt wanna disturb haha. (plus...segan lah haha) Im planning to drop by the exhibition again to spend more time on the exhibits. Full of priceless gem.

Yup!... me too and the majority of Malaysian... hahaha...

Yup! ... great sharing session and very educational. The best part... Prof. Muliyadi mentioned/quoted my research during his sharing session and Datuk Lat personally invited me to sit next to him during lunch time. Awesome feeling... :)

Soon you will be the big guy... you are getting there... you deserve to be recognised... congrats

Glad to be part of the successful event. The auditorium was packed even though it was held on weekday (Wednesday). congratulations, National Museum hard working staff and directors, Malaysia Cartoon & Comics House crew and fellow cartoonists and supporters.
