I was listening to old P. Ramlee songs on Spotify while doing my assignments. The playful tone of his voice as he sang Getaran Jiwa, the notes danced in my ears as I imagined what it was like back then on our tanah air. I listen to a lot of western songs from the 50s to the 80s, from Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald to Elton John and Billy Joel. Once in a while, it’s good to fall in love with Malay music again.
