SteemBlog Update #5 v0.0.8 + Post Publisher

in steem-dev •  7 years ago

Hi everybody, I presented SteemBlog a few weeks ago on @augustol/steemitblog-open-source-project-have-your-blog-from-steemit

SteemBlog is a web app that displays the posts of a user on steem. But very helpful if you want to have a blog running on a personal domain with custom styles and scripts using the steem blockchain as database.

On this new version the app is hosted on a server (on a digitalocean droplet of 10 usd) but no worries because it still continue being all open source and with the option for developer to build form source a client version, the app never save the signer post keys, it ask it everytime you want to do an action, on the next version I will add the option so save it on the browser storage and encrypted with a second password there if I have time :).

Generate your blog URL on http://steemblog.io/url

See your generated post like this one for @steemitqa

Have your own website using github as host like me

Personal Website on http://augustolemble.com

New Publisher Section on http://steemblog.io/publisher

On the next version I want to improve the publisher and make a blog directory and store config files of the blogs on steem, so user would be able to save their themes, background images, blog name on steem and not passing them via parameters.

In the app will be hosted on a server where I would be able to improve SEO, and add maybe more features. BUT all that will be related to account management I want it to be done on the client side, so in a future the project can split intro SteemBlog on a server and another app to manage user founds, encrypt, delegate power, etc, without the need to download a wallet.

You can see the source code here: https://github.com/SteemBlog/app

Working on my personal domain with the website hosted on gh-pages: http://augustolemble.com/#/

New on version 0.0.8:

  • Votes.
  • Comments.
  • Publisher Section.
  • Publisher with word counter and min read.
  • Export/import/save drafts on publisher.
  • Server deployment of app with static routes.
  • Fixed bugs.

Future tasks:

  • Improve post editor and publisher.
  • Personal configuration of blog using files on steem.
  • Blog directory.
  • Minimalistic wallet.

I presented the Idea Proposal and we created a poll HERE with @steemitqa to reach the next stage of the steem crowfunding if you want to see this improved for the steem community please vote on the poll. and vote/resteem this post.

Soon I will submit the Growth Proposal on steem.

very nice. I had gotten lazy about backups for my posts, now I can go back and find the ones I missed, which can be a PITA on Steemit

Nice idea, but you should improve the design in my opinion! That background image is ugly.

ahhaha, thanks! yes, Im not a designer :P, Ive been thinking in just remove it and leave a background on a white or grey color. work in progress :)

Any chance each person could choose what they want the background to be?

On the next version yes ! The user would be able to save the configuration of his blog on steem, background, font, title, urls, blog name, etc.

Awesome.

Yes, skinned and themed :)

Eheh. Maybe you can take a look at https://getmdl.io/ or something similar.

A materialize theme would look really good.

So can you explain this to me? Is this for if you want to post your articles onto your own website but link them here?

Yes, use steem as DB for your website, storing your posts and blog configuration on steem and share it on your website
