My favourite club is the one I practice most with when I'm out on the range. My 6-iron is right there between a short iron and a long iron.

I can always hit an array of shots with it, and over the years its really served me well both on the range and out on the course.
I've actually hit some pretty accurate approach shots from 170-200 yards because I spend a lot of my time practising at this range - more than any other.
I'm typically closest to the hole within the 170-200 yard range, as I've practised these iron shots many times in practice and in my sleep.
At the end of a 6-iron session I'll wind down with a couple of easy pitch shots to warm down.

After this I'll make sure I don't ignore my long game and also practice my putting. This is a routine I've found myself falling into.
I hope this information can be of help to your golf.
Have a happy round my fellow Steemians!
My first ever golf club was a Wilson 5 iron and I played in similar style to yourself.

I always say learn the short irons first and then work your way back to the drivers.

P.S. @seirffejpilihp Would you believe my first club as a boy was a 5-iron!
