So, I understand that the site is in beta, and it is not user friendly, ok fine. Now, I messed up making the tags for my like first 50 dtube videos (because of course it is not explained at all), and now I have 50 tag-less videos that no one will ever find using the search bar.
I search for replies to people with the same issue and they get the "what happens on the blockchain stays on the blockchain forever", well fuck me then eh?
What am I suppose to do now? Re-upload 50 videos, spam the site, so I can just put the tags this time?
And we should be able to delete or unlist a video. For whatever reason one might want to delete something, and that should be an option, youtube is not a small site, we have to do perfectly to slay that beast.
It is ok if that feature is coming, I'll wait. But if that is the philosophy of the site, then it is fucked up, and they are shooting a bazooka to their feet.
I personally don't believe in the option to delete a post on here. I think it ruins the fact that Steemit is built into a blockchain.
The site makes it quite clear that tags are important, and that posts cannot be deleted, but in the event that you are unhappy with a post, you're free to edit/remove the content and perhaps replace that content before one full week has passed since the post was published.
I think the way it works now can enforce a higher standard of quality, given it promotes proofreading before hitting the post button.

So, be perfect or get out? Then dtube will always be underground, and youtube king.
Tags are important, but they never tell you if you separate them with a comma, space, or with a hyphen (where I made my mistake), so... omw to re-upload I guess.

You don't have to be perfect at all. Just realise that there is a small window to edit your hashtags, with an additional seven days to make changes to the post itself before it's stuck on the blockchain.
Once again, I believe this manner promotes proofreading and thus increases general post quality, if people really want to get somewhere on here.
I've made quick fixes in posts shortly after publishing, and I've even removed posts by replacing them with content I decided was far better, hours after. You'll get used to it, and as time passes you'll probably see it the same way I do.

Sometimes would be fine, you have one week and in some cases it is enough, but think in the following example:
You upload your wedding video, or a video with you and your gf playing guitar. A year later she cheats on you, and you don't want to see her face ever again. Well, you are out of luck, because dtube will make sure that you never stop seeing her in your channel... "My Wedding
Best Day of My life!", with a glowing tumbnail of you two kissing...
I could think of another 50 examples of why somebody would want to delete a video or a post after a week.
The only solution would be letting us delete or edit a post whenever we want, or steemit has to teach us to see the future, so we know which post we will want public for the eternity.

I get what you mean, but I don't see it as a platform flaw, but more so a personal problem.
I don't think DTube plans on being a genuine alternative to YouTube in the sense that people will choose to upload such personal parts of their lives, but an alternative for those who create reviews, videogame stuff, animations, etc. and post them here.
In terms of video platforms on the blockchain, they certainly have a long way to go before they can be seen as genuine alternatives to YouTube.
The best thing about blockchains is that they will make you think twice about posting your more personal parts of your life, not only in the event that things go south, but because personal data protection is a genuine issue that most overlook.
