Another thing I recommend for newcomers and even some of us minnows is to resteem your friends posts... that expands your reader base and lets folks know you are here.

    Very valid point! We are getting hit hard with the rain right now. Can't even get out through the low water bridge!

          Now, I know what you guys mean by resteem. That's like using the Facebook, Twitter and the LinkedIn buttons to promote posts. Is that not it?
