I joined Steemit in hope that it is fair social network where people woudn't be scammed, but in last few days Steemit looks like politics, where people want to take bigger piece of cake, not to create quality content. I saw post from @fyrstikken, were he talked about how people with higher ranking (Whales) in 'WhaleShares' project collude to make money on Steemit. It would be ok if that was the only post about people trying gaming the system of Steemit, but it wasn't. Saw many posts about people intentionally downvote someone, now this 'WhaleShares' project and other things. If I understand it, @fystikken said that he can't upvote someone if in that time someone from 'WhaleShares' project is doing something. Don't understand exactly what, because I'm new on Steemit, but anywhy it is bullshit! You can upvote something because somebody else is doing something at that time...wtf is that? To be honest, that reminds me on politics, not free social network.
What I saw for the most part on Steemit are post about Steemit, cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, ethereum and similar stuff. When I go on trending page, it's only posts about that. For post on how bitcoin reached 2400$ they make hunderds and thousans of dollars. What kind of post is that to recieve so much money?!? Must give one example... I meet here on Steemit @lumlum85, guy that went to war. In his blogs he tries to explain what are horors of war and what consequences can happen to soldier after the war. For that posts he recieved less than 1.00$. I don't care he is new on platform, his posts are more educative and more valuable than fucking post about bitcoin reaching some ammount of $. Is this platform where you can make more than pennies, only if you write about cryptocurrencies? It seems it is.
I want to write about many subjects. My(and some others) problem is that english language is not my primary language, so to write long article it takes many hours do it. But even that woudn't be the problem, if I would know that woudn't recieve only pennies for that. I tried to find some interesting articles about stuff I want to write about, don't remember if I find one. Must ask, is it worth it when I see all this on Steemit. Also saw post from @vegansilverstack about how many active people is on Steemit. In last 30 days 26148, in last 7 days 13295. That is not much considering that people like different stuff. Even someone would like your post, odds they will see it are very small. They can see it only by chance in category new. All other categories are filled with crypto stuff. In beginnings I just posted pictures to try Steemit, now not sure is it worth it to give it a go with articles. Here is some of the things I want to write about. Are you interested in this topics and is there audience for this kind of articles on Steemit?
- Why are anarchy and voluntaryism only solutions!
- Myth of autorithy
- Democrats vs Republicans bullshit
- What is true revolution?
- All about hemp
- My experiences with Sun gazing (watching the Sun)
- TV shows propaganda
- What is meaning behind word 'Legal'?
- Why birds born in cage thinks flying is illness?!
- Is universe virtual simulation?
- There is no reason to hate
- Why are people suffering from 'Stockholm syndrome'?
....and many other topics.
Btw...How is my english?

Don't give up on Steemit, there are plenty of users who are interested in many other topics, start by following some who post content you DO like. You will see a huge range of interesting topics including those you are interested in. Try not to be too worried about the rewards, just find users in the community who you enjoy being social with. post your stuff and have fun rewards will come to those who wait. (I'm still waiting). You've got to admit getting any reward for interaction in a social media platform is something cool. the all adds up...bit by bit you and I will get there.

hello cmoljoe. i had almost the exact same impressions as you do. it looks like a feudal system complete with overlords and we plebs are suppose to tap dance for our supper. i am not going to waste my time making posts only to get 3 cents or less. i do like the people on here and i enjoy the latest crypto tips but i am not going to fuss at all about making money because it isn't going to happen. i may just invest in steem as crypto currency and screw the posting. also i would be very interested in hearing about sun gazing and how you did it and what it did for you. thanks.

I came to steemit through a friend and she make a bit of money daily and she wrote only 1 blog a day. But it takes time to get the right followers. You must go look for people that is interested in the same things that you are.

Don't get me wrong. I don't have anything against cryptocurrencies! Just saying that all categories are only filled with some cyrpto story and they are the most paid, like there is nothing else going on.

It's not about money. It's about posts like'Bitcoin reached xy $' get paid much money and rest of the stories non. It's about "Bitcoin story" is not a story, it's just headline with some pictures graph..and that is it.

Collusion implies nefarious intent - specifically to rip people off. There are no laws stopping people from entering into voting arrangements.. collusion is illegal conspiracy especially with intent to cheat or deceive..
