My SteemAuto Fanbase Settings

in steem-progress •  6 years ago  (edited)

While the social strength of my network here on the Steem blockchain is growing exponentially on a daily basis, my financial worth is stagnant, and due to the current downward trend in the value of the Steem token, I've even noticed a slight decrease in my own net worth already, which is surprising, being that I am not normally very vigilant about such things. I'm not an economist or accountant, and I don't spend vast amounts of time studying the graphs on sites like CoinMarketCap.com or similar.

As I may have mentioned before in previous blog posts, I'm just a sickness beneficiary with too much time on my hands, and not enough liquid funds to sink into efforts like investing in $ˢᵗᵐ. That is why I love the concept of earning crypto through creation and curation. While my health situation means that I can't realistically do much these days, I certainly can create content and upvote & comment on other people's content.

I can be a bit of a victim of my own success sometimes, being that people here seem to routinely miss the fact that I'm still very new to the Steem ecosystem. I often get requests for delegation, or donation of "a small amount of Steem/SBD, such as $1-2ˢᵇᵈ worth". I've never had more than $5ˢᵇᵈ in my wallet here, and even then that was from a prize for a competition which I had entered! If I had more spare cash laying around, or lost down the back of the couch, I would gladly invest it in $ˢᵗᵐ to boost the value of my account, and even power it up as Vests (SP). But unfortunately, that just isn't realistic in my position.

However, one thing I can do is ensure that some of you people who have engaged with me here on the Steem blockchain are appropriately acknowledged. Even though I am using @steemchiller's SteemWorld.org site and @neander-squirrel's @ginabot notification service, I am still n00bie enough here to not really know yet how to use them effectively. I'll learn, over time, I'm sure. But in the meantime, I tend to miss a lot of what is going on here on the Steem blockchain. As I don't like to skimp out on recognising and acknowledging those who have helped me achieve what I have here so far, I am going to do what I can. I know that I can't delegate anything to your favourite pet project yet, but I can ensure that you at least get upvotes from me!

That is where SteemAuto.com comes in handy. Over the last few days I have started setting up some auto-upvotes on some of the Fanbases that I follow. I already had two of these established for @teamnz and @anzub, my fellow antipodeans from the AUS & NZ Discord server. Those people have helped me a lot to establish myself on the Steem blockchain. I was even offered some extra delegation from them in my very first week of being on Steem, but I was so new back then that I turned down that kind offer until I could understand more about what "delegation" actually meant in terms of Steem. Now I am a grateful recipient of their ongoing support, having eventually grasped this concept.

Are you on my "nice"  list? 🎅

I have added another 11 accounts to my auto-upvote list over the last few days. These accounts will start receiving automated upvotes from me, as a way of thanking you for your input into my life here on the Steem blockchain. I have singled out the @steemmonsters, @chibera, @steempunknet (and the associated @steempunksnet) accounts of my favourite Steem-powered games for some extra special love. They will currently get up to three 100% upvotes per day from my account. I am also auto-upvoting my two sponsors, @ryivhnn and @lemony-cricket with one 100% upvote per day, to say thanks for helping me to get started on Steem. The other five (so far) who will receive one 100% auto-upvote per day from me are mostly the giants of the #steemmonsters community, from whom most of my current collection of SM monster cards have come, including @coruscate, @isaria, @reseller, @littlescribe, and @clove71.

This is just my little way of showing my appreciation, thanking people for their help and input into my life here on Steem. I will be keeping a close eye on my Voting Power over the next few days, to see how much these auto-upvotes affect it. Depending on how things go, I may need to adjust sliders up or down, or even add or remove some from my list. I am certainly hoping to be able to add more people to my list! We'll have to see how it goes.

I am a proud member of the AUS & NZ Discord server. My thanks to @cryptonik for making me this cool #TeamNZ banner. Kia Kaha!

@trisquelwhare I found you because you commented on a bot who was commenting we were using bots to promote our posts. How did you make that graph showing that? Very ingenious, good luck on this Steemit. Please give me a follow and a upvote too.

Hi, I left a link to the SteemReports.com website (which generates those cool graphs), on that post you're talking about. I hope that helps.

You just got a Team NZ upvote!

SteemAuto certainly is a handy feature.

Overall, it has been my experience that unless you catch a lucky break (like a curie or something) you really just have to keep plugging away, and finding your niche but it'll take a good few months to begin to see any real progress on the value of your a/c.

I think you're doing really well here socially. :)

Thanks for that @ravenruis. It is a lot more effort than traditional social media such as FB & Twitter. Even my previous experience on Minds.com didn't really prepare me much for Steem, unfortunately. Although Minds is a competing blockchain-enabled social networking site, the two are really very different in their culture, as I've found. Things that may be acceptable on Minds wouldn't necessarily be so here on Steem, and vice versa.
