Over a year ago @jesta mentioned a project that he was working on called vessel, a really cool desktop application that allows you to manage your steem account(s) and it was the perfect tool I was looking for because I knew I would be making a bunch of different steem accounts.
Today I want to quickly show you through a way that myself and @dayleeo are using steemit accounts as ‘savings’ accounts for the different needs we have — we hunted high and low for an application that would allow us to store pots of savings between each other which allowed us the same type of access, same transfer speeds and zero costs — we found nothing.
So, we turned to the idea of creating four steemit accounts that would purely be our savings accounts, we would manage them with vessel and also have steamily watching for any transactions coming out of the savings accounts because obviously that gives us a 3 day window to make sure it’s us that started the transfer.
So then, step forward the accounts we put together.. .
@transition
for our flight costs back and forth between American and the uk — you might not know this but we have a long distance relationship from over 3000 miles away, it can get tough but we make it work with discord and video chat and the hope is I can go quite regular between the time that we have to sort out the next thing. ..
@paperwork
lots and lots of paperwork is potentially ahead for me and @dayleeeo to do regarding visas and travel, we have already done quite a bit but we are putting money aside for the big costs like the 10 year passport fee the uk wants, she needs that visa every time she comes over for any length of time — we already have paperwork to prove income and such like.
@upgrades
Is for our constant upgrading needs to make sure we have better equipment to do our blogging, vlogging, internet connection and computing needs generally met — we are currently for instance looking to duplicate what I have here in terms of camera, audio and greenscreen stateside so that I can travel with a laptop and continue to record shows in the morning before we head out into the day.
@pullalong
we are very keen to get a teardrop style trailer for dayles car so that we can cut down on costs of where we stay when I fly over. Eventually I’d like to do the same for an electric van or have the ability to have the teardrop rented out or in storage when I’m stateside for a few weeks at a time.
Neat huh?
So what I do at the moment and I’m explaining in the video is that I’m using vessel to send bits of my powered down steem from my main account as a percentage to those accounts — in time and via live streaming and donations for help, assistance and building out OBS templates and such like for other people I hope to increase the amounts we put over to them.
it’s so neat for so many reasons. .
Firstly, we both have accountability over the accounts, we can see everything public on the blockchain, it makes it easy to track, it’s fast and zero costs, we can move things in and out securely — in fact, why we don’t have a basic app that allows for saving on the steem blockchain is beyond me, that would be a killer feature to keep steem in the ecosystem, at least until we pull it out to fiat to get those upgrades..
Can’t buy a laptop with steem just yet! :)
So yeah, hopefully that helps you understand how to manage steemit accounts a little bit more and how you can use the steem blockchain to make little saving pots that you can both contribute too, mention in posts, throw out in @dlive live streams and beyond — who knew saving was so darn cool! :)
admittedly you have to remember that the price of any crypto currency is volatile and goes up and down so please remember that when saving if you are buying steem with fiat currency — these things go up and down a lot, we are in it for the long haul and many of our expenses for each of these accounts will mean we will probably pull out to fiat within 3, 6 and 12 month intervals anyway — for us, it was the best place to transatlantically save together.
That’s it for me, would love to hear your feedback! :)

Good luck. We appreciate all that you do. Since the crypto world could blow up at anytime...perhaps you could adopt minnows of choice to become your mini me in your areas to help out with the small stuff, but will free you up for future endeavors.

Yes. Well, I have a few different ideas about it.
2 whales can do a lottery and upvote 5 minnows or 1 ..for a certain time based on rotation. Discretion used in voting posts as they may not be all good
3 minnows can do an adopt a minnow post geared toward specific whales for adoption. Stating how their adoption can make steemit better
4 minnow relief whales.
A hashtag for a gang of posts minnows think whales should vote for. votes recommended by anyone...the whales with free time may vote with their heart.
I got a million of em!!
I need adopting too!! :)
And I am adorable.
