I think 2018 will be a huge year for STEEM. Here's a few quick reasons why:
HF20 will be released
SMTs will be released
STEEM is fundamentally the best blockchain (in my, and many others' opinions)
Steemit has seen explosive growth and it is continuing into 2018!
The STEEM community has a vested interest in the growth of the platform and we are all working as hard as we can to make it better for everyone!
The Snowball Effect - Steemians are obsessed with getting their friends on board (I know you've told at least 1 person about your excitement for this platform. I've told everyone I know and many have signed up as a direct result! Steemit is growing like wildfire and its mainly by word of mouth from fellow steemians!!! Keep up the good work!).

You could say Vitalik Buterin did some similar life changing for anyone who bought and held Ethereum when it was cheap, but with steem MANy users got to benefit without actually having any steem themselves to invest with, they just earned it. We need to realize that we have so many users who started at $0 and that is something Steem is able to offer, the ability for users to start at $0 and earn their way up from $0. That is why Dan has such a loyal following, He has changed the lives of people who were at the fringes of society, people who were outcasts and at the edges but who still had much to offer society he gave them a space to offer value. He allowed many human beings to add value to a blockchain which now works to all of our benefit. As steem grows the value of the token adds value, because as more people accept it it undergoes the network effect, where the more people who use it the more valuable the token becomes. Bitcoin did all the hard learning for us, now steem is just another altcoin that is just as good as bitcoin, no one will turn it down when they find out they can get Bitcoin for it! And eventually Steem will become better than Bitcoin when people see the $0 Fee and 2 second transaction time!

I do that too but you lost like 8% using blocktrades and then another 8-11% on the atm....but damn is it fast and easy to get money from steemit to your hands

very very very small! almost nothing i pay like $0.01 to $0.00 sometimes and its basically free!!!
Its reallynice and bitcoin sometimes it will be like 20 cents but on bitcoin cash its almost free its pretty sweet
and when you convert btc to usd its really cheap too
