Joy Comes In The Morning

The past two days have been quite stormy in Europe. We were hit with Storm Ciara, a cyclone that brought high speed winds and heavy downpours. Depending on the region, there were different levels of impact either from the strong winds, or flooding. Thankfully I live on an elevated area, so even though we were more susceptible to the winds, we can't be flooded.

The list of countries affected include United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, France, Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland and Ukraine. As with most Atlantic storms, the effects were felt as far as the eastern coast of the United states.

If you're in Germany or Austria reading this a little confused by the name, yes it's the same storm as Storm Sabine

WEATHERING THE STORM

Today we woke up to a bright, fresh, sunny day in London. The storm has passed, and all is well with me and mine. There have probably been a few tragedies related to the storm, and for those affected I offer my condolences.

At some point in history, such a storm would have caused a lot more devastation to life, limb and property. Nowadays, the buildings we live in over here have been fortified to various standards, one of which is high winds - which are common here. I doubt homes here would stand up to a proper earthquake like the ones in California. Since earthquakes are not really a thing on this island, we don't have to worry about that. What is important is that things are fine tuned for their own environment.

We've weathered the storm, so to say.

STEEM

I can't help but find an analogy for Steem and the drawn out crypto bear market we've been through. Everything came at us at the same time, including the STINC debacle. Look though, we're still here. What's more important is that we have been building, fine-tuning during the down times. Fortifying or homes. Now we know we can weather a crypto storm better than anyone can.

If you've been here building, hunting and gathering in winter, rejoice! The good times are ahead when you will enjoy the fruits of your endurance.
