Waiting To Exit

If you’ve followed me at any point in the past 2 years I’ve been on here, you’d know that I’m one of the most bullish supporters of Steem ever.

Today, I feel a little differenty about things. I didn’t change, Steem did. I feel as though the carpet was removed from under our feet. Now what we knew as “Steem” isn’t what it used to be.

In this new paradigm, I’d be a fool not to consider my options, which is what I’m doing now. I’m looking at some of the projects spawned off from STEEM, or along with STEEM anyway. APPICS looks very good to me. I don’t like EOS, but I like the fact that there’s an EOS escape hatch over there. Splinterlands is another, also with very interesting emergency exit doors.

I think it’s time to become less emotional about Steem and see it for what it (now) is.

Hahaha. No. I’ll still be creating content on here. I love doing that, but I won’t be investing an extra dime here going forward. Not until I can see a clear future for this place that is, then that may change. As it is, I’ve gone from believing in Steem to hoping Steem still becomes great like it had been destined to be.

If Steem ever reached my dollar cost average again, I’d probably sell. Perhaps without my investment in Steem, I can go back to enjoying content creation on this platform just for the pleasure of it alone.

Peace and love,

Ade.

100% understand your position. Good luck friend, with whatever comes. It was fun while it lasted :^(

Looks like some of the DAPPS are having problems connecting. Hope they haven’t screwed up the chain with 22.5

You guys are so dramatic, damn.

Investing 10’s of thousands of pounds of real money into a project tends to make people that way.

Yes and tbf, NOTHING bad has happened to their investment. I mean, what would you have done if you were Stinc?

I'm hearing people are shutting down dapps and hurting the people they claim to represent and protect their interest in "protest".

Every time that something like the unfriendly Steem take-over happens I must smile at my lack of imagination. Why do I need to see Binance and Huobi using customer's funds to hijack Steem - just to realize that the risk was there all the time and anytime. For me, this is not the end of Steem it is the end of DPOS. Will I be able to hone my anticipation skills? This is definitely a super helpful start.

For me, this is not the end of Steem it is the end of DPOS

I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's also the end of blind trust.

Maybe go back to whaleshares? I think I'm done for now as well. Let's shit post this chain to the ground at once😏🙄

Maybe go back to whaleshares?

God forbid. :)

😂

I'm going to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks. Steemit say they will hand back some control, but what will the terms be? Lots of people are pissed off right now and they need to cool down a little. I just bought a little more Steem, but I'm not as invested as some (except in time). The community is more of a priority to me and I don't want to lose it. I've had that happen on other platforms and I hoped a blockchain would be more resilient.

What about Dtube ? They are veering off into their own Block Chain. That looks damn good to me about right now
