What would happen if governments decided to close steemit.com?
I have been using this wonderful platform for more than half a year now, and the truth is that every day that passes, I am more committed to it and have more fun with its use. For me, Steemit is more than a social network. It is a totally disruptive and innovative platform that reinvents the way we communicate online, providing new resources to creators of content, so they can freely express their concerns and give free rein to their creativity through incentives that reward excellence.
The idea is not simply to generate content, but to be original and of quality. The real purpose is to create an ecosystem that encourages the flourishing of innovative ideas and constant exchange of information and valuable content among its participants, with the community as a whole acting as judge (well, although some are "more judges" than others - meaning, whales haha) to agree what is the most valid content and reward it accordingly.
As I say, for me the idea behind steemit is an authentic genius and a whole paradigm shift, both in the way of interacting in the network and in the own and complex economy generated within the platform. Without a doubt, the creators of Steemit have shown that they have nothing to envy in terms of talent to the new Zuckerbergs and Jobs from Sillicon Valey.
With the increasing growing acceptance of the network by new users, the expansion of the STEEM ecosystem towards other platforms such as Dube or Dsound and the arrival of the new SMT, the future of this cryptocurrency can not be more promising. But, although apparently all seems to be positive for all of us who use STEEM, there are some unknowns regarding its future that lead me to think that not everything will be a smooth process.
STEEM as such is a decentralized cryptocurrency based on the blockchain. But Steemit, which is the main platform where the application in the real world of this crypto is actually carried out, is, as I understand it, a conventional and centralized company with its own physical headquarters. According to Wikipedia: "Steemit, Inc is a privately held company based in New York City". So, in this recent climate of uncertainty about the regulation of governments with everything that smells like "blockchain" and "cryptos", the big question is: What would happen if the American government decided to close steemit.com?
The truth is that this situation worries me a lot and leads me to question whether the future of steemit is as promising and solid as it seems. And you, what do you think about it? I will be happy to hear from you!
i would argue that most third world country governments do not even know about steemit

greetings it should be noted that government agencies always seek to privatize the economy, in case it is decided to close steemit I simply think they would change their headquarters to a country like Japan where the government is in favor of cryptocurrencies and their technology
