- Our history is greatly interwoven into the history of America for good and ill. We played integral parts in the American revolutionary and Civil war, serving as an outpost.
- We were a Pirate's republic and involved in rum running and other illegal trades later on in our history.
- We are a Christian nation, with the majority of Bahamians claiminig Christianity.
