The reputation of the National Health Service (NHS) over the past few years has been greatly affected by reports of Internet attacks and patient data breaches, as well as errors that have led to the loss of thousands of lives. However, there seems to be a radical solution at hand. The MediChain MediChain platform is designed for large data protection (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) records that enable patients to provide added security to the records data as well as to mitigate costly errors.
In May, parts of the National Health Service were completely disrupted by an Internet attack that exposed vulnerabilities in IT systems used by the publicly funded British health care provider. Hospitals discovered that their Windows-based computers were infected by the malicious Wanna Crypt virus, which was demanding ransom if hospitals tried to regain access to their devices. Fortunately, a blogger managed to stop these ransom programs from running. However, in October 2017, one of these hospitals hit the virus again.
In an effort to ease tensions, NHS Digital, the National Information Service's (NHS) information technology arm, announced in November £ 20 million to provide support for "smart pirates" to reduce further attacks. Attempts to calm patients' concerns about their personal medical data were authorized in January when a University Health Council in Wales was forced to apologize to 41 patients whose files had been illegally accessed by a hospital administrative officer. This is not the first incident. A nurse has illegally entered the data of 3,000 patients over a period of two years in other hospitals in other Wales.
In addition, medical leuksin allows important information to be accessed outside the chain. Dr. Baker highlights one of the key benefits of the "out-of-chain" aspect of the system:
"Our ecological biochemistry system measures sensitive patient data to use a digital database maintained by a network of computers that can almost never be corrupted. In addition, the patient's permission to access certain encryption keys must be obtained "
The system also helps to address another NHS failure, which is life threatening. In late February, British Health Minister Jeremy Hunt announced that the government would do all it could to reduce the number of deaths caused by prescriptions or provide the wrong medicines to patients. This is followed by the announcement of the government-sponsored research, which points to the death of up to 22,000 people in the country due to medical errors. Medical workers, hospitals, nursing homes and pharmacies account for 237 million errors each year.
Doctors who register on the MediChain platform, even if they are from different hospitals or patients themselves using smart cards, enter the information into the same plaque. In this regard, says Doctor Baker
