(That's not me in the picture, it's this guy).
I can not get enough of the content on this platform. I have lost count of how many times I have explained steemit to people I know - and some I don't know - And as of yet, my description of steemit has already enticed 2 new member.
Now before you scoff at this seemingly low number, just consider how attached people are to FaceBook and their existence within Zuckerworld. People invest there lives into sites like this. Albums of photos, precious conversations with folk who may not be around. It all means a lot and makes it very difficult to leave this abusive relationship
(This is a familiar story among abuse victims and it seems very odd to me that something so intangible, as social media, has transcended through the boundary between what is real and what is not)
So for now, I am happy with the number 2. Especially when I have only been here for 6 months.
I actually believe the average to be a lot higher, among more influential members. But if every member has the same ratio as I do, we should still see a steady growth in steemit registrations, as well as an increase in the price of steem.
More fool them...
While I do find it frustrating that people are put off by the mention of 'crypto-currencies', I have to laugh at their misery.
Until the mention of 'crypto', the conversations usually start well. Most of the time, the FaceBook bashing is done by them, not me. This used to get my hopes up and I would, dutifully, confirm their concerns about Zuckerworld (LOL. Like pouring petrol on a flame).
But then the, not-so-magic, word is mentioned and the shutters come down.
Back to Zuckerworld they trot...
Now it has been 6 months of me propagating the virtues of steemit and I have become accustomed to the sad reaction described above. But with experience comes wisdom and an observation has revealed itself to me that has struck me as very typical of today's mindless society.
Because of the title I have given this article, you may already know where this post is heading...
Well, have you ever seen anyone wearing a T-shirt with the words
"I love Facebook", or just
"FaceBook"?
I have to admit that I have seen T-shirts with the FaceBook motif on, but it usually has the words
"can kiss my ass" after it.
Like I said earlier, the only people who give a damn about how controlled FaceBook is, or how dangerous it is, are those who either hate technology full-stop, or those who are active FaceBook members.
This isn't a hypocritical thing for me to say, because this post doesn't seek to ridicule Facebook, or its users.
It just seeks to wax lyrical about how much love there is on the other side of the coin.
You could say that I have given up on trying to warn people about FB and you wouldn't be too far off in that assumption. They will learn in time and it will dawn on them that Zuckerworm is eating away at their brains.
One day they will see the light.
Makes me wonder if MySpace still has any active members, or an active website for that matter?! Ha, who cares, I have better things to do now than worry about steemit's evil twin, or those who are seemingly too attached to the teet.
Love will light the way and while I wait for my next payout, so I can then go buy my steemit T-shirt(which I will wear with pride), I am warmed with the thought of how Mark 'the mole' Zuckerberg would yearn for this kind of loyalty. While I see a daily stream of posts, applauding the efforts of steemit's development team and its many volunteers, I have to chuckle when I imagine what Suckerborgs inbox must looks like...
"Mark we love you! Now eat sh*t and die!"
"Suck my Zucker-nuts!"
"You are poisonous creature, that deserves to be fed to the wolves. Have a nice day"
"I am going to hunt you down and stamp on your weaselly little face. See you soon.... xx"
I could honestly write those all day long and I would bet my left left leg on it being true. We can only hope...
IT'S THE START OF A BRIGHT NEW DAY
So while the founder of the most popular social media site get egged in the street and hopefully one day drowns, in a freak yachting accident, we can get up in the morning with our heads held high.
Nice @article61, I have never really got into facebook, but steemit for me is where it is at, all about the people and community. Glad you are on here, and yes we are here to stay xx

We're here to take over, baby!! I enjoyed writing this post :) I very rarely visit my FB profile nowadays. It is toxic on there so you ain't missing much. lol. How's things going in the big-truck? If ever you need any advice about fixing it, I am a fully trained HGV mechanic and I would be more than glad to help. I get the feeling that you have this covered though.

ah thank you, thinking we need to get the engine re conditioned, or a new one, she over heats and loses power especially if going up hill. Think it's the head caskets? trying to get the finances together to get her back on the road, but so many other things keep coming up, going to Ireland to visit family hopefully, so that put a pause in things, but so glad I found steemit, can actually have an income to make these things happen x

Well if you come through Nottingham on the way, I will fix it for free for you and you would be welcome to stay, of coarse. Would love to help and give something back, so that offer always stands. Does sound like head-gasket troubles. Look for white custard like substance in your radiator tank and if you can access any of the water pipes, then you can check to see if they are pressurising. Just run the engine for 10/15mins and give rubber water hoses a squeeze. If they feel like a balloon then that means air that is squeezed by the pistons, is being transferred through to the water system that surrounds the pistons. You lose air, you loose power. BTW WEAR GLOVES BEFORE YOU TOUCH THE PIPES!! ;)

Ha ha. This gave me a chuckle, especially the bit about Cuckerberg drowning in a yachting accident.
