Tag abuse. People are using tags especially if they wish to collect SCOT tokens that have little to nothing to do with their post. It's poor for SEO and doesn't help their blogs.

Primitive level/half non-functional search functionality on Steemit.com. This blows my mind. 3 years and no improvement. It forces peoples' hard work to become lost unless they have the tools to search the blockchain.

hello @berniesanders Still doing your thing, cool!

At present I hate the Estimtille running download system. Because it does not get any upvote on the post as I do it, but if it goes to the promoter again and votes down then it is wasted. So I hate this system.

Low rate of on-boarding

Low engagement and interaction

That while this blockchain is top notch and is able support and handle anything, literally anything....few people know about us. It ain't Steem's fault...but it certainly is Steemit...Inc's

Lack of testosterone in the leadership

I hate people just supporting their friends.

Instead of Hate @elektroyazilim maybe you should Educate? Anyhow, I think hate is a wasted energy force.

Downvoting!

I couldn't resist 😂

Bastard:)

The ads are sometimes pretty annoying on Steemit.com. From time to time, even the GUI is not visible and I have to reload the page. 😒

How long it takes for any changes to be made on here.

Took them a while just to get rid of the beta tag

How hard it is for newcomers to get started.

That is not so hard, because newcomers mostly get support and welcoming messages. Staying here (in the long term) is hard.

Starting is relatively easy. Even nowadays. The hard part comes after that.
Nowadays the hardest thing on the Steem blockchain is to get real human comments under your blog posts. And not receiving any comments could be very demotivating. Especially, if you put hours of work and effort into your blog posts.

I am on the Steem blockchain since 2017.05.17. I rarely receive real human comments, no matter what I do, what I try, what I post, what I write about.
Even if I comment under many people's blog posts, people still rarely comment my blog posts.

I considered leaving the Steem blockchain multiple times. I have even left it a few times, but I have always returned to it so far.
I would not recommend Steemit. There are much better Steem blockchain interfaces.

I would recommend the eSteem application. They are very supporting in terms of rewards. Busy.org (another Steem blockchain interface) is also better than Steemit for earning rewards.

I hate downvoting

Hate so slow development of steem and hate shitty steemit site with much ads.

When I post really well and they don't vote for me.

Unnecessary "no" votes.

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Childish downvoting, people that are still here just trashing the platform that don't have much of a stake, and those that have maligned me with half-truths. There are plenty of things that are true one could attack me with. Yet; they make up things. Take the high road chief!

That is all. Quit fucking with your detractors, I hate that too. They will be seen for they are without you engaging with them. Your notoriety just gives them more exposure when you engage. I hate that too. Just ignore them. It will make them even more angry.

I hate to see the value zero under my posts.

That is one of the reasons why I do not like posting with Steemit.
But there are much better Steem blockchain interfaces than Steemit.
I would recommend eSteem and Busy.org.
You will earn rewards with them.

Hmm thanks for explanation. I will search.

Censorship!

If you're referring to downvotes, that is not "censorship" and those posts are still on the blockchain and visible on many front end sites.

Being able to nuke someones money is a form of soft censorship.

The "money" is not yours until it's in your wallet. Try again.

Ok for example right.
Say Steemit becomes one of your largest forms of income. Which is possible. But you talk about politics.

Then someone with a ton of money decides they don't like what you have to say. They can load up on steem and blast your income into the ground with the goal of shutting you down forcing you off the platform.

Its entirely possible on this platform for a couple entities to completely lock it down if they really wanted to. It would cost a lot but its technically possible.

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Oh, I didn't know this and thought censorship would be possible since I've found some comments which were downvoted so much that I couldn't make them visible with a Click.

Thanks for this lesson, it seems I've to learn a lot about the blockchain in future.

I couldn't make them visible with a Click.

Please give a link to such a comment. That's IMPOSSIBLE not even Steemit.com allows to hide a comment in such a way that you can't reveal it.

Ok, here's the Link to a Posting where you see two sorts of downvotet comments, the second one is what I've talking about.

https://steemit.com/deutsch/@meins0815/wie-ernst-isses-denn

See the lowest comments under "beerlover". The first one is a downvotet comment which a Bot made and there's to read "reveal comment", so you just to have to click there and the comment is visible again as you've said.

By the comment below this is to read "Comments were hidden due to low ratings." I tried to click the button on the right where stands SHOW, but the comment was invisible furthermore, just the Button changed his inscription from SHOW to HIDE, that's all and that's what I've meant.

When you click that "show" button a new comment appears (by cleverbot), but for some reason it shows that at the very top, might be confusing.

Yes it is, but it's good to know I'm not the only one who was confused by this.

I'm glad a hard Censorship isn't possible here, because I heard it for some years and this was my main reason to come to Steemit.

Even if Steemit would hide comments completely, there are multiple other frontends (for example the eSteem mobile app) that still show them. ESteem doesn't even hide them behind a button.

That it's a bit hard to get startet, the downvoting for stupid reasons and the lack of people.

Posted using Partiko Android

That... $100+ investment in, my vote is still worth 1 cent or less to the recipient. $100 is not a lot, but it's not trivial. Would be nice if I could at least choose to put all 10 of my daily votes in one place, especially if not voting on myself..

Woah, thanks for the upvotes!

engagement is scarce these days

Meh, it is our own fault steem isn't better.
We should've studied coding harder.
The kneecappening and walkabout didn't help, but we seem poised to overcome those.
I agree with @themarkymark, it's just a matter of living down the damage intentionally put on us.

We have to wait for steemit.inc to work properly, and it shouldn't be long for us to wait for the price of steem to go up

I think that the users should also do something positive. The low amount of real human interaction and the selfishness and the greed of the people is not so attractive. It is driving away existing and potential new users. Not to mention investors. If the people would change their attitude, then the price of Steem would be better. Only the users can change this. So many people are posting blog posts, but only a few people cares about other people's blog posts. People are not using the Steem blockchain in the natural way, like they use Facebook, Twitter and other social media websites. This is the main problem.

I hate monopoly of some people who always do whatever they like and are unable to digest different opinions.

I hate the value of Steem being too low.

I hate that it's dying.

About Steem I hate the price.
Obviously since I have a stake in steem I wish the price was higher :D

But about steemit I hate how the community is falling apart in a way.
Seeing alot of negativity lately, back when I joined this platform (I guess like 2 years ago) I saw no negativity at all (At least none made it to me)

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

Our account ages are similar.
People are so focused on the money earning opportunity.
Many users are focusing on earning money in a selfish way by posting blog posts, and not caring about other people's blog posts. This results in a low amount of interaction, and in many disappointed users. Most of the users are highly affected by the price movements of Steem.
When the price of Steem go down, many users become disappointed, and many users even leave. When the price of Steem go up, many users suddenly become "optimistic" about Steem, and many users become active. If you mean "downvotes" by "negativity", then do not take it personally. There are accounts for the sole purpose of downvoting. Many people are getting downvotes. Including me.

No I don't mean downvotes by negativity

And also I consider myself to not interact with other peoples posts enough.
Tbh I just don't find enjoyable content on this website.

Firstly I am not really a person that likes to read, so that's already a big minus.
Secondly I just don't find the content I usually search for on steemit, there are no good gamers who make interesting content, there are no skit makers or vloggers that appeal to me.

If you know of any great content creators, then please let me know because the people I follow right now bring nothing of interest to my feed

Gamers? Vloggers? To be honest, I almost exclusively watch them on YouTube. Nowadays I do not use DTube. Mostly because my favorite content creators in these genres are on YouTube, and not on the Steem blockchain.

that's exactly why I don't interact with many steemians, because I'd like to interact with content I like to watch

Nepotism and favoritism.

🤘😎🤘 🎉🎉🎉

People whining about downvotes and or lack of rewards.

I hate advertisements on Steemit site. It makes me very difficult in mobile use.

I hate people that are acting like the Steem is the best thing that happened in their lives while they are constantly selling Steem on the exchanges :)

Fanboys of Ned

I hate to be powerless in Steemit. It is very difficult for Steemit to survive weak accounts.

hypocritical and two-faced people

The lack of marketing from the steem.inc, they don't give me the feeling they believe in it

my suggestion is look at what inc does with their site and their steem instead of what they say.

steemit inc
and the community function that they’ve been talking for years, and delivery? is a beta steemit site that nobody knows besides some inc cheerleaders

and unnecessary downvoting

  ·  5 years ago (edited)

idiota named Ned Scott

Seen below an illustration of Ned trying to launch SMTs for 3 years and on...

Steemit site is remarkably in a catatonic state. I don't know why they do not enhance it with features.

WTF is steemit

You when you don’t vote

I hate being alone in Steemit and being the target of some accounts. I also hate downvote.

That's a good question ;)
I hate people who want to get STEEM for free.

Professional DownVoters presenting no Proof concerning their Ideology.

I totally hate auto voting to less quality contents.

I hate downvoting

The current prices

  • SBD isn't a proper stable coin.
  • Slow progress on functionality.
  • DTube devs are taking forever to support LBRY links for cross posting.

I may see something I want to resteem but cannot because the essay or article is a month old.

You may resteem older posts with other Steem blockchain interfaces.
For example with Busy.org. I just resteemed a little bit more than 1 year old post. A post from 2018.10.25.

Thank you for the info but I still think we should be able to resteem it on this platform at any time.

Fucking Downvotes On Bidbot Promoted Content😠

I don’t hate anything about STEEM. My inconsistency kills me. Sometimes sharing myself is easy, other times, it isn’t. I dislike that delegations aren’t more popular. It’s foolproof way to “give” someone value without losing it. Try a frequent user and bless ‘em with more power. See what happens, record results and repeat.

Spamalot

Too few readers.

With the low low steem price, for me, it jus isn't worth the time it takes to post something of quality.

the ninja stake

Not exclusive to Steem, but I hate how much the value plummeted from the all time high. I hate that there is not mobile wallet support like from Ledger or Trezor.

The shitty Steemit UI and that they are trying (or at least pretend to) to develop it further instead of just doing a new one from scratch.

Also for Steem in general the high inflation.

Also that people pretend that SMTs will change everything and thousands of new websites and millions of users will suddenly come to Steem because of it.

Yep

The people with the least amount to lose bitching the hardest.

Also the people who think the answer to making steem/sbd valuable is burning it, not enabling a competitive marketplace for authors in order to attract more readers to make the entire ecosystem more valuable. This short term thinking tells me they are either more interested in pumping the price so they can sell, or they can't see past the end of their noses.

Well burning could be said to be more valuable than just voting non valuable content. As there is no incentive for creators to attract viewers/readers/an audience.. and none of the “reward” is based on it. In fact most of the large accounts or projects “curating” just have shit set to auto that they know will be voted, or they vote themselves.. or better yet send a video to trending that has had 5 views just because it was submitted on their front end.

Value in vs value out.. if not value is being brought in by the inflation pool.. then it’s only value out and therefore the price sucks. Anyone of these fools saying they aren’t related are only doing so as they are making bank from using the pool as is. What they can’t seem to realize is it’s killing the project long term.

As someone who has been manually curating for years, I am starting to think burning is better than half of what I’m seeing these days.

Burning is more longterm thinking imo, then the auto vote, abuse the pool bs most of our “leaders” are doing currently.

Just my 2cents.

As someone who has been manually curating for years, I am starting to think burning is better than half of what I’m seeing these days.

When the good posts do come and they are not rewarded to the same degree as some automated shitpost, it doesn't signal people that there is much to strive for. Part of that is the diminishing returns for late votes, where great posts end up in $17 no mans land. It's a bit of a chicken and egg problem. The bar needs to be set before it can be raised.

I hate the part of the community that is only caring about shill the coin, instead of helping add real value...

The thing I hated the most at the beginning was the lack of information on how everything worked + the search sucks. Also the false/fake/delusional positivity that seems to permeate this place combined with the many censorship/cleaners groups

Don’t really hate anything.. Just wish everyone would get there @ back on here so we can really grow Steem and see what we can all do together!

Steemit, Inc.
Lack of vision
Failed Slowly Progressing Hard Forks
Greed

There is a lot of talk about all these great things... a lot of talk... let's see some greatness.

The BS trending page and those who support it.

The user interface could be a lot better

Try Busy.org, eSteem, SteemPeak.com. They all have different user interfaces.

Sure, but the question was what do I dislike about Steemit and this is the UI of Steemit.com

will you be starting a community ?

The circle jerk.

Very hard to find interesting content having to go through mostly crypto and blockchain related posts.

  1. the marketing

  2. the way Steemit to work on Steem projects and the communication ( like SMT)

  3. No real Vision for the future

  4. the onboarding

  5. broken SBD and the way to try to fix it

  6. .....

No decent dedicated mobile app, it's freaking 2020! Mobile first design has been owning the world for over a decade now. But here it's like smartphones don't exist.. This platform offers none of the features that make centralised social media alluring to billions of people.. Dms, group chats, stories, videchat, going live, and aside from that it's clunky and difficult for even techies to maneuver. The economics are complicated.. The lack of cohesion and dreadful search parameters, the powerdown period, the inflation, stupid failed obsolete sbd.. Being forced into acquiring sp, the lack of incentive to engage. The absurdity of auto votes. Trending still sucks.. Having one douche control the witnesses.. Stinc stinks to high heavens.. You can't polish a, turd so how to market this fledgling experiment ? I'll stop here but believe me I could go on.. Actually I'll end with the pretentious pricks that can't handle their precious steem being criticized and tell me to leave if it sucks so bad.. Bunch of whiny ass babies that can't hack it IRL so they fantasize about steem making them feel like they are superior when they kinda just suck and I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire..

Posted using Partiko Android

yea nobody uses laptop elsewhere to make any posts that of similar quality as most steem posts

Have you tried eSteem?
That is a pretty decent mobile app in my opinion. Both for Android and iOS.
What more. They even an application for PCs (Windows, Linux, MacOS).

I tried it months ago and was very unimpressed

No major improvements on the main website for years, feels like it is still in BETA.

The best honest answer I've read yet.

Heh... @berniesanders is the least problematic person around here... Might be the loudest though...

And even one of the funniest. Do not get me wrong. I do not hate that. I obviously like that. I often smile or even laugh, while I read his blog posts and the comments under them. For example his "I like fish." post. :D
