Recently I was in the Steemit Chat showing people my newest post.
Suddenly A WILD SCAMMER APPEARED!!!

The story

He was showing me a screenshot on how he could upvote my post up to 30$. At the first moment I couldn't believe it. Someone with so much Steem Power is checking out the /postpromotion chat. Then I wanted to check it myself. Still no new upvotes and no 30$. I asked him why? He answered that I should send him 5 Steem to a major trading platform and he would upvote my post and I would earn my 30$.

That was the moment I realized that this must be scam.

Some of them are funny :o) Nearly ffrom the beginning I had his name, e-mail and so on without him telling me, but I wanted to see if he had some others.

Don't fall for SCAMMER'S tricks!

Seriously, don't fall for their tricks. Trust nobody online. Only trust people you know from real life and know their 100% sure that's them.

What I'll be doing about it

Okay, I had his username. So I checked his profile out. Nothing special. Just a regular profile on the first sight.

I checked his website, checked the information about it. Got his name, address, phone number, ...
From there on I found people who will work with him, his Facebook and other social media.

For now I won't do anything about it in this case. I'll be watching. If I see him doing damage (following his transactions, websites...). If the scamming continues, I'll be stepping in.

He was reported to the admins btw.

Finding new Scammers will be a joy for me. I won't let you ruin Steemit. (Will be posting about me catching Scammers if I find them)!!!

In these new found cases, I will do the same as I did now. Talking about it here. Speaking to people in the chat and watching them.

How you can help

Again: Don't get scammed
If you get contacted try to find help in the chat. A person you can ask for help on what to do now.
This is optional: message me.
Troll the scammer, let him spend his time on you. This could help really.
If you're a big Steemian, please message me, so we have control instances for the part "You got scammed?!"
Check the part "You got scammed?!" and decide if it's a good idea or not.

Message me. I'll give it back to you from the earnings of this post. Please be prepared to provide good evidence. Hopefully some Steemians will volunteer for being the controll instance by checking the evidence and my decision on if you got scammed or if you're just pretending.

Why did I censor the screenshots

I don't want anybody to get harmed. This is public. If someone from the Steemit/Steem team is interested, message me.
You have to understand that publishing his private data could damage his private life very much. I don't want that, even though he is a bad person. But you know how things on the Internet go crazy.
Yes it's only his username I censored. This information could lead to that that people start getting information about him. I don't want that. As long as you're not deeply involved with Steem/Steemit, I won't share more than the chat. I hope you can understand this.
