This is the last week on Steem being under 1 year! Starting next week I will have been on Steem for more than 365 days!
When I started @jonbit was trying to convince me how great this platform was. I was hesitant, but after a few weeks of insisting I join, I decided to give the concept a whirl. Boy how things changed fast.
Three weeks later @jonbit and I decide to begin a project, an upvote bot. We realized pay bots were popular and set out to build our own. After realizing we would need a very large amount of SP, we realized we could offer other Steemians an opportunity to Pool their SP with us and share in the rewards.
After another week it was clear that pay bots were easily and often abused by spammers and just down right terrible content. So we set back to the drawing board...
Thus the birth of @shadowbot! Realizing if we focus on rewarding good content while taking from the abusers, we could offer a FREE system for all Steemians! This concept has now grown over the last 11 months and will continue on for many years to come!
Fast forward to the Winter all time highs, the insanity rally, and the FOMO crash! This was actually some of the best times yet! The engagement during those few months was so incredibly high and the payouts were past mars (take that elon)!
And now we are here, almost 1 year in and about to launch the beta preview of our new platform @shadowbook! Get ready for another great year to come!
Hi friend, thanks for writing. I'm sure you've written about shadowbot elsewhere, but this is the first I've seen of your work. Can you explain what makes it better than other bots and how it filters for good content? Thanks!

Congrats on the almost one-year anniversary! I think there's good things ahead for Steem over the next 6-18 months. Just a hunch.

Surviving the first year is a great accomplishment. I am about 6 months in steemit and there were people who joined around the same time but no longer active. Congrats!
