These last few days have been exciting in Cyrptopia. Cyrptopia ( a imaginary land I refer too, where everything goes up). We have had SBD at well over 10 dollars, is this Christmas come early? Definetly, I have been able to add significant amounts of steem to my account, but besides that point. This run up in the markets might just be the best thing for steem. Think about it, we have had the Ethereum block chain at capacity, and moving like molasses. Bitcoin we all know is slow, and the fees, my goodness the fees are ridiculous to buy and sell. With the rise of the sbd, I have sold some and traded all the other cyrptocurrencies, and when I say all, just Eth, Btc, Ltc. All of them take significantly longer to send from account to account, and the fees are higher. 
At some point when the steem block-chain is crushing the amount of transactions of all three major ones, and not even breaking a sweat, people will have to take notice. The steem block-chain has set the record in daily transactions, so I am hoping it is only a matter of time. Unfortunatly I feel to have steem take over, we will need a crash in either a exchange do to Bitcoin or Eth blockchain being at capacity, and having no way to buy or sell them. I believe it is one of the best blockchains , every one is focused on steemit and forget the the main thing here is the Steem Blockchain

I agree! The steemit blockchain seems to run pretty smoothly compared to everything else. Litecoin seems to be holding up well also. 😊

It's interesting, I thought the intent of the Steem Dollar (SBD) was stable value. At least for holders, today it is a gain instead of a loss (i.e. a 10 cent SBD would not be good).
