To The Minnows and Whales, Yes "WE" Can Do it!

in steem •  7 years ago

Hello, writing a post after spending minutes and still getting few dollars? Well Hey, You can do it one day don't loose hope.

We all know that many of the users in community as new as flocks of people still join in.
While only few sits with thousands of STEEM POWER.

Whales and people having a lot of STEEM power usually don't upvote because they dont have enough time after building their fortune.
YES..!! Let it sink in.

Well, here I am not talking about all the whales but majority of them if you go through their recent upvotes at steemd.com you will find how miser they are in letting people happy.

On the other hand the minnows are the backbone of this community supporting each other, minnows tend to upvote even if they can contribute to $0.01, but well they care since they know what it is like to be in the waters.

I am not going to be rude by posting username and letting users know about whales and their upvotes but after a brief look I found many whales upvotes 3,4 posts in a week even while being active on it and posting frequently, while bagging thousands of upvotes from minnows, since they made it early or invested a lot in the network.

Well, once the community realizes this gap soon I hope we will be able to make much better.
In few weeks here I have already found people leaving the platform even though they were good writers and even seeing a guy posting random picture to bag more than him.

I don't envy them or anyone, but I bet once things started to get sort out and whales of this community come closer to minnows there will be a lot of happy users.
Always remember people quit due to low momentum.

YES whales and Minnows together can do it.

Sort Order:

Whales look after other whales, thats how this works, they want to feed off each other because just like us minnows, for them an upvote from another whale counts much more than upvotes from 5-10 minnows, I think there will be balance soon, as you say whales get most of their earnings from minnows and once the community starts noticing that they are not spreading the wealth they'll just stop upvoting, I personally dont upvote whale accounts, I know it can earn me more rewards but I prefer to use my upvotes on people who dont have high earnings than those who do.

I'm hopeful too, but the chips are stacked against us. Hardfork 19 was supposed to bring us closer to this but has resulted in many upvoting their own comments.

It's their money and they are entitled to do so but it shrinks the reward pool for everyone and we're at square 1.

It's a real interesting economy in here, I just wish I could understand it all.

When Im a whale im going to make sure to ALWAYS vote up smaller people, when im able to give $100 to people, ill find the people who take the time to write amazing posts, and i will give generously....just you wait

same here, who knows you might be the next whale.

If it was not unethical I could have post all those usernames of big whales sitting with thousand of steem power and do nothing to help minnows :(

thank you
The information is very interesting

welcome :(

Don't forget to resteem :)

I'm new enough to think of all this like meaningless internet points so I don't give a shit about throwing it around. I'm sure once I get a $100 post I'll turn into Scrooge.
