Why is STEEM USD at 0.83 USD?

Can anybody tell me why the STEEM USD is at 0.83 USD? Or, why can I buy 1 USD for 0.83 USD?
I heard that the interest rate on STEEM USD is even 10%. Is it paid in STEEM, can the rate change and if yes, where can I see the rate?

You can always change your STEEM USD into STEEM at the STEEM/USD conversion rate. Yes, you will get the price feed in one week. But, if you sell it step by step you can mitigate that price risk.

Therefore, 20% price increase and 10% interest rate sounds not bad. And if STEEM USD dies than STEEM will die as well.

      You can buy 1 SBD for $0.83, that means that SBD is currently weaker than a USD. In the end the SBD will probably be around $1 again.
