Where I'm Coming From Vs Where I'm Going

Today I wanted to give you guys a bit more insight into who I am, my life and I decided to share something from my entrepreneurial journey. It all started for me when I was 20 years old in 2010. I had just turned 20 that year and had already given birth to my son Cj. His dad was an event promoter and was putting on his first event in Montego Bay Jamaica. I was excited for him and wanted it to be a success so I even helped that night by working in the VIP bar. Now he did the normal stuff like booking a sound system, booking a venue ,décor , djs and alcohol. All with the exception of one thing , which was to book a promotional modelling agency, five girls to be exact. Now their job was to take care of the drinks and Ice of the V VIPS. To my surprise though they seem very standoffish and stuck up and I couldn't justify why we had to pay them 40k for not wanting to work. So it was there that I decided that I could do a better job and LipstickkEnt was born.

Now this wasn't easy. I was new and no one wanted to join lol. So I had to be patient and soon I was employing some of the most beautiful women in Jamaica. We had a great run for 3 years and I did some events and got to go to places I never thought I would go. The company was extremely popular and anyone who was anyone in Montego Bay knew about us.

I truly loved what I did. It gave me the chance to have some fun as I never went to events prior to running the business as well as I got to develop my fashion designing skills as I designed all the outfits for my girls. However it was not meant to last. I was young and foolish and soon after reaching my third year I hit financial problems and was forced to stop operations. I tried to revive it after awhile but that ship had sunk.

For the past couple of years I was in and out of the system (working) never staying in one place for two long and now I'm blogging on Steemit. One thing is for sure I was bit hard by the entrepreneurial bug and there is no way I can work for another organization unless it is on my terms. I'm currently developing a new business around social media marketing and with the help of God we will have our first client soon. I love business, I love setting my own hours, setting my own rates and I will never go back to the system again. Tomorrow I may share more with you guys.
