INTRODUCTION
Allow me to start with small disclaimer:
This post is targetted towards a very specific audience: Project.hope community members.
So if you are reading this, then it most likely means that I've shared a link to this post with you and in that case I would like to ask you to spare 5-10 minutes of your time. Especially since going through this post may bring you some benefits in the future.
Main goal of this publication is to answer a few common questions about our PH curation trail
. Questions which I've received recently from different members of our community.
Few words about our @ph-fund CURATION TRAIL
Most of you are already fully aware of our curation trail, which I've been managing for quite some time now (you can find links at the bottom of this post). Some of you are also aware, that I've managed to reach out to TheRising and this user decided to support our community efforts by following our curation trail with 100% voting power. Which is mindblowing, since he has approx 450k Steem Power (and Hive Power).
That itself is allowing our community to grow much faster and also allows me to reward content posted by SELECTED MEMBERS with really solid upvotes.
It is important to understand at this point that curation trails have been designed to PRIMARLY support our project.hope CORE TEAM as well as several users, who are the most engaging and supportive towards others within this community.
COMMON QUESTION NUMBER 1
Basically, the number 1 common question I've received since TheRising joined our curation trail is: - what am I doing wrong? how can I receive upvote from the curation trail?
And I will try to answer this particular question. Which isn't easy. After all I don't want to make anyone feel unappreciated.
So, I found it important to clarify why some users enjoy more of this additional support ....
WHO IS ELIGIBLE for PH curation trail upvotes?
There are no strict "rules" and I'm taking several factors into consideration:
Some members have been with Project.Hope since the very beginning and they invested a huge amount of time and energy to help our community get where we are today. Naturally I will prioritize them over new/fresh members.
Some users are simply very active and engaging in comments; investing their own time into consuming content published within PH. Bringing extra value into our community.
And finally, some of us are simply part of theproject.hope CORE TEAM - and as such they are my main target of support.
Overall, there are many factors which I'm taking into consideration.
IMPORTANT - NO POWER DOWN policy
I would like to see our community GROWING on both chains. Therfore, there is one common "RULE" that all those who are receiving that support WILL BE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW in the near future:
And this rule could be summarized as: STRICT NO POWER DOWN policy.
Why? - you may ask.
I need you all to understand that I'm investing a tremendous amout of time and energy into building the PH community. Attracting more delegations and expanding curation trail = directing a large part of inflation into our community. And as you all may imagine - I need to think long-term.
It will not serve any purpose to see most of received rewards being dumped on the market. Not only will it create additional selling pressure, but in the long term it doesn't help our PH community get any bigger and stronger either.
After all - I want to ensure, that our community will build some "Dolphins" and "ORCAS". I also would love you all to build some savings, instead of selling all received STEEM/HIVE tokens as soon as it is possible.
I do fully understand that some members need to cash out part of their profits
to cover life expenses. I really do. However, I also strongly believe, that liquid steem/hive should be enough to cover those needs. Especially if you're receiving solid upvotes from our curation trail (including TheRising).
Hope I am making sense?
WHAT CAN I DO TO receive PH curation trail upvotes?
To wrap it up:
if you consider yourself active and engaging within PH community, you're okey with NO POWERDOWN POLICY, you've been part of our community for at least several weeks and you would like me to consider supporting your content with PH curation trail upvotes, then message me via Discord.
We can discuss this topic - and I will see what I can do (and also I will explain more details) .
DO NOT RESTEEM
There is no need to resteem this publication.
Yours,@crypto.Piotr

Hello @coach.piotr
It is truly a rule that serves everyone to grow.
Since, as you say, there's a chance we can grow the account. It is necessary.
And becoming a dolphin or a whale is what we must all aim for.
I think that would be ideal, because it means that as we grow, so will the PH.
And it would allow us in the medium term to be a community of dolphins and whales and that would be great, because we could support many more people. Which is also one of the reasons why PH exists.
For my part, I am aiming to close the year 2020 as a dolphin, no less than 8000milSP and HP.
That is the goal. In the medium term. I'm on my way.
Making those points clear is important, it's not just about publishing. It's also about interaction. Supporting each other with recommendations.
At least for me it should be.

I like to believe so too @josevas217
Reality
is that it's hard to tell how long will TheRising support us. It's important to use that given opportunity to grow as a community. Also it's worth to remember, that I'm currently in charge of real serious voting power. It comes with some responsibilities. Last think I want is to create community, where most members would be dumping all solid rewards - killing price of STEEM. This would mean, that our community would be a liability for STEEM/HIVE blockchain.
Thanks for encouraging words
Yours, Piotr

I really like the way you encourage and award people for being faithful and active members of the PH community. The fact that you also award for powering up and turning the members into long term builders of the platform through powering up, is awesome. I wish more people would think in the same way.

These are good policies/terms to receive vote from the trail. One thing i love about the project hope community is engagement and i am happy that so many users are still engaging but there are a few users who are powering down and are not commenting/engaging on posts yet are receiving the votes. It will be good if we all follow this terms while making the community fun to be.

@coach.piotr First of all I would like to start with this quote "This is the quality of good leader" you listen to each and every member of the community and try to solve their problems. That's why I admire you and look you as a my mentor ❤️.
Apart from this very great step, to make both the chain and members stronger by powering up. This will increase their influence also on both chain.
And we are always with the community for its betterment and growth. 🙂

That's a very good post. Did help me understand the overall community a bit better. I like your no power-down policy. Does help get the community to continue growing. Was wondering, in the event that any individual wants to cash out and power down completely for whatever reasons, what will happen? That being said, thank you for getting me back on on steemit. You are doing some awesome stuff

I agree with the points presented, and I understand everything, I think that the most important thing is to grow, growing on this platform is something that we all must do. My goal is to become a dolphin as soon as I can, for that my motto is "never power down" , I take this opportunity to thank the PH family for the support provided and to congratulate the brilliant leadership of @crypto.piotr
if we all grow together , all win together.

Hi @coach.piotr
I agree with what was said, a few weeks ago I did POWERDOWN for a couple of weeks on this platform because of a personal situation, then I stopped it, however I have a lot of hope and the conviction of not having to do it, since since I am here it was not my intention, in fact my goal is very far from it.
That is why I share and agree with the policy of No POWERDOWN.
Thank you for sharing this important information with all of us.

Glad to see the community getting so well organized. Love that the focus is on growth first. It's so early in the phase of Project Hope that this ensures the best outcome for everyone involved. The growth we've seen already over the past couple of months has been amazing. Everything being done to handle the conflict between the two chains has progressed better than expected. Even so, we need to remain diligent in how we move forward. I still see efforts to undermine both blockchains from both Steemit and Hive diehards. Some of the conflict is covert, while others are heated arguments that have resulted in the alteration of both blockchain codes. I believe our community can be one of the leaders during this transition. My hope is that both become successful in their own right. And I believe the efforts outlined here are steps in the right directions.

Hello there! You have been a great friend to me for quite some time now and have helped me a lot in this blockchain world. I support you always.
You have shown great vision and you know where we are going.
I know how important it is to keep the power up and on. And I also understand that for many members it is necessary to power down because of the difficult conditions we live in and not just because of the pandemic.
But we are creating a future that will reward our efforts later on. I believe in you, my friend.
I also wanted to point out that I read that there are specific and important days where you should power up and that it improves the voting power a lot. I don't know if that's true, but I'm beginning to believe it's true.
And as I always say: You are the man, man!

Surely I don't want to continue brining more rewards to community and watch them all being dumped on the market, creating more selling pressure and actually lowering value of my own resources. Right?

Everyone at some time in their lives needs to set priorities, the resources that the planet has will reach a point where they are not enough for everyone, so that is where the question comes in:
Who will enjoy getting more resources than others?
I don't really know who they are, because suddenly those who deserve it the least enjoy those resources, but the right thing to do would be to distribute the resources among the people who have sacrificed the most, those who have contributed the most, and in conclusion, those who have had the greatest commitment.
In the case of a strong vote on the part of ph-fund, I believe that your strategy is genuine, since many will want to opt for that strong vote. You must set the priorities because you are the one who has experienced the scarce moments, where users who have been supporting the PH from the beginning have been in good times and bad, and therefore the correct thing would be for those who have always been supporting to receive the support of the PH.
It is important to emphasize to the users that there is a commitment in different types, first to generate a free content of plagiarism, second to have interaction by means of the comments with the members of the community, and finally to be ready to any aid that needs the project hope to continue growing.
These are my humble appreciations in reference to the commitment that must be acquired for the project hope my dear @coach.piotr

It is very clear to understand this position, it is like a cycle, that is to say if we keep our steem power off we are going to be contributing a voting power in the cure route of ph-fund and the hope project, and in that way you can see the return of the investment fruits of the project.

Hi buddy,
I think that it must not always be easy for you to decide how to place the upvotes. You have a lot of tools at your disposition and you juggle them quite well. I quite liked the idea of @juanmolina to have a kind of scale or ranking for the users to determine what kind of upvote they could get. Such a ranking would also allow to direct people how they should behave.
Just an idea how this could look like:
I honestly think that it is quite difficult to measure interaction of users and I would also avoid defining a level regarding that because it often only generates low quality comments when they are forced.
Of course there could be more levels and there should probably be a cap on how many posts are posted within the community per user. If this is defined somewhere, when asked you could always tell a user that he is in level 1 and therefore he needs to work his way up to the next level to get higher upvotes.
I think this would add a lot of clarity for everybody and for you it would be easier to argument the whys and hows.
No Powerdown policy
I think that this should be a center stone of our community. The more the users continue the grow, the more inflation we manage to capture and I think that you are totally right to encourage people not to power down.
Have a nice day!
Best regards
Achim

This scheme that you propose is very similar to the one I had in mind. But it clearly involves the concept of what I meant.
Curating is not easy, and ultimately the decision will always be in the hands of whoever does it. But when we work in community and "for the community" we must also engage the crowd by keeping them informed and giving them the tools to reap greater rewards. Encouragement to maintain proper behavior is very important.
Thanks for this dear friend, @achim03.

The truth is, that I would need to add TONS of extra charasteritics.
Some people were part of project.hope since very beginning, some were defending Juanmolina while he had issue with jaguar. Others helped with promoting holybread and steemscan.
Some (like @majes.tytyty) were first large delegators, who allowed project.hope to get some traction. I take many of those things into consideration.
Let me also give you great example:
At the end of the day upvoting in PH will continue to be "subjective". Since describing and judging user "value" is a very complex thing.

Hello @coach.piotr it is good to clarify that points, many believe that just by publishing they are already entitled to some things and it is not so. At the beginning I recognize that I was part of that group but as time went by I understood that that doesn't make a community grow, and that's the idea with @project.hope. The idea is that the project grows and that users participate in other publications.
With respect to the growth of the account I think it's great, in fact that's what I'm doing now, I want to grow to help others grow, and as you say it's a good strategy for in the future our project can be sustained and at the same time grow.

Hi @crypto.Piotr,
Here are solid and crucial concerns you raised here. The very unique thing is that the concerns are all about the growth of individual Steem users in the PH Community.
First, I was on powerdown but I just terminated it now. I'm again motivated to build my stake on Steem and will be glad to delegate my 1,000 SP to PH in a few weeks ahead as my SP levels up.
As per other rules stated to qualify PH users for trail votes, they are all valid and I give a thumb up on them all.
Cheers.

All points on i are very important and following the rules established from the beginning are even more important, I am particularly following one, which is to publish only twice a week inside the hive, I know it was a rule for everyone . But you are right to say that some do not comply and trust is broken there.
Thank you for all the effort you make to keep this community active and growing.

Hello, dear Piotr.
Perhaps you should study the possibility of establishing defined parameters in this regard and that the allocation of upvotes does not feel like a subjective decision.
Several users have understood that just by setting 20% for @ph-fund as a beneficiary, they acquire the right to receive a strong upvote. So it would probably be beneficial to create a scale of upvotes where factors such as engagement, feedback, comment activity, and un-powerdown define the weight of the upvotes.
This is just my humble opinion about it. I do it, thinking of offering a transparent rewards scheme (I don't mean that until now it's not).
This policy concerns me directly. I just suspended my powerdown on steemit.
From now on, I will commit to growing my SP. I will manage my resources to maintain my economy with the rewards for publishing and the support that I receive directly from You.
I hope that many others will join this "No Powerdown" initiative.
Thank you for caring about us and giving us the best advice so that we can grow and improve the economy of our community and of the Steem Blockchain in general.

Thanks for your comment @juanmolina and for sharing your thoughts with me.
Unfortunatelly, I disagree. It would change mindset into direction which I'm afraid I wouldn't like. This is how factories or corporations can function, where people have very little flexibility and they simply need to do what they are being told to do.
One thing Steemit and hive touch me, that if you offer transparent rewards scheme then people will simply ... abuse it. By knowing exact rules, most users will focus on fullfilling those requirements which will allow them to maximize their rewards while putting absolute minimum effort.
I've already tried once small experiment with group of several users from our community: I established weekly "minimum" amount of comments they need to post within PH community. And after few weeks I've realized, that most of those users STICKED to minimum. Even those who were more engaging - they reduced engagement. To meet minimum expectations.
Not to mention, that most comments started being very short. Sometimes like 1 line only.
This solution would be also "creativity killer". I'm trying to reward different ways of bringing value into our community. To inspire our members to come up with some ideas and solutions. If I would establish defined parameters - then I expect that meeting those parameters would be everyones major goal.
I need to slowly build members awareness and "fish out" those who I consider the most valuable, engaging etc. And focus my support on those users. Instead of supporting those whos main goal would be to "maximize rewards".
Not to mention, that it would make our community look very "strict" instead of being inspiring. I really do not see it working.
Either way, the most important point is to underline that "no power down policy" is something I want to promote and that it will be "mandatory" requirement for all those, who would like to receive additional support from our curation trail.
Yours, Piotr

The start of No power down policy could be great as a common rule, but in the end the curation will remain curation and therefore might not be happening every time. Otherwise we would use a bot 😃

My philosophy is that the great leaders of a community and societies is one who listens to its members and team, a way of directly addressing the needs and their opportunities for threats, that is why it establishes laws and normal to regulate and maintain action suitable to keep the order to meet the needs optimally and under the framework of norms and rules, making it possible to train talent and new leaders.

A very informative post. I have been building my stake by conservation for over two years, and studying all opportunities for growth on this platform available to me. I have not been a part of many curation trails, as I tend to run down my voting power quite low frequently to distribute my votes and avoid wasting voting power. I will need to read more about your tiles and expectations as I don’t wish to create conflict due to a lack of knowledge of your expectations. The post is very enlightening, @crypto.piotr.
Well... Particularly speaking, I am very satisfied not only with the financial rewards (the good upvotes I've been receiving), but mainly for the interaction that my posts have been receiving. As a writer I care a lot about the comments I get because they show that my work has been seen.
I have changed my mindset and am being more participative in other users' posts (although I have a job in the offline world and sometimes I have a tight time to interact). To all the members of the PH community, I can say that I am trying to do my best (both to write and to interact on other users' posts).
Sometimes I just wonder why I don't get such strong upvotes on posts longer than 2 or 3 days, like this one: https://steemit.com/hive-175254/@wiseagent/advertisements-what-is-their-effect-on-you-on-line-and-off-line. I know you (the project) need time to help everyone and I hope that I can be one of them because, once again, I repeat that I'm doing my best (by the way, writing on Steemit and Hive) to add value to the PH community.
Thanks in advance for all the help and comments, folks.

I've just read your comment @wiseagent
I would love to support your content with our curation trail
I would need to ask you if it would be okey if you would set up 25% beneficiary? This will allow me easily to recognize that you're part of this new "curation trail" program (by one quick glance at your future post payout). Also those 5% will allow me to cover part of costs of dleasing SP/HP (we've already rented 90k HP on hive, check out @ph-support account)).
Yours,
Piotr

Hi, @crypto.piotr.
So... I'm gonna try this in my next post and see how things will work.
However, I think that depending on the upvotes, it won't be a problem for me because in addition to be financially well rewarded... My main goal is to help the PH community to grow in a strong way.

I know the no power down rule might look like challenges to some but the fact still stands that this is the best way for we to support our community as individual. Just imagine if those supports pulls out their support and we all doesnt have steem power, how do we back our community to stand? But if we all have a good amount of sp, that won't be an issue.
As for support, all that he has said are truth.
You have to engage and write on topic supported by project hope.

Hi @coach.piotr
Being a part PH family I am aware of all this and I have long term goals on this platform.
This is right that we at PH have some goal and people who have been part of this since the beginning will get preference. I completely agree with you on this.
I like this thought that whatever reward is given should not be dumped in the market and if someone does it then its abuse of the reward and support by PH. We need to understand and follow it strictly. I follow it and I also keep on powering up as and when I get enough of liquid and have no plans to power down. In fact, my liquid tokens also move to my SP through power-up.
We have come a long way but certainly, we need to go far away and for that we need to have long term vision. All these things you mentioned are needed for us to take PH forward.
Thanks for the great work Piotr.

Hello dear @coach.piotr, I think we are in a good moment of the project, the best since we started, as a voting proxy, this translates into the best growth opportunity for everyone, it is the ideal state.
Now, my goal in paraticula is to grow here and this is the moment, I have just passed 1000SP, something that makes me very happy, getting to this point has not been easy because I have had to do Power Down in small quantities constantly ( No more than 50 steem) to meet the needs of the family, however, I am aware that this rule will help me reach the desired levels.
Let's make it friend!

I read this and I really am doing the both. I am commenting on people's post and I am not powering down...

I think it is excellent that you have clarified each of these points, from the beginning I have believed strongly in the work of PH, so of course you have my full support. Let's keep growing.
