Why should I do that?
I've seen lots of posts like that, asking for help to keep steem blockchain safe. But I've not seen any post explaining the situation for a newbie like me, and the impact it can have to do that (or to not do that).

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
