I agree.Hard-forking is a dangerous precedent, I actually didn't think they'd go that route.
It's a dangerous precedent, because it makes one wonder, if someone doesn't like some action in the future, do they hard-fork again?Where does it stop?
I can understand that people were upset because they felt like someone manipulated the DAO thru the Solidity programming contract language, obtaining millions in the process. But I just think this sets a very bad precedent, and shouldn't have been used in this case: Learn the lesson that it teaches, and move on, that seems like it would have been the right move!
They were trying to be clever with the original website, but there was a flaw with their design, so I simply updated it to be more accurate: "A Software Platform."
It might just become known as "a forkware platform" because if they've done it once, it's entirely possible we'll see another situation where they'll "need" to do it again.
The project's market cap is based on Hero worship, and not knowing that Microsoft Azure is cloud storage, not a merger with Microsoft. Nor will any banks ever use Ethereum, ever. All a mirage. The hero determines the future as so much of the value is tied to him.
