Crypto Empire Game: Play and Earn!

in steem •  7 years ago  (edited)

As @SpiritualMax waves goodbye to his second armada, the ships raise anchor with all of the brave souls who will colonize the New World.

The ships carry the colonists, supplies, tools and soldiers, as the challenge will be beaten no matter the cost.

The valiant colonists know this.

After some months of sailing through the open seas, here are the colonists who disembarked on the New World this week:

They are now going to join the already playing colonists:

Other than these colony leaders, more people arrived to boost the Imperial Outpost for the campaign.

The Imperial Outpost has the current staff in it:

The colonists breathe in the fresh air and prepare to take their first steps into this brave New World!

Refreshing: The Rules!

The game is pretty simple.

Each colonist has his/hers own colony. At first, it is lackluster of course, but with time they'll develop into profitable hubs of trade, commerce, industry, or even war.

The turns are weekly and they are made of 4 distinct phases:

  • Resource Phase;
  • Colony Phase;
  • Action Phase;
  • Diplomacy Phase;

In each of these phases, you'll have different actions available depending on what you have at your disposal that turn (that week).

At any time, a user can state that he wants his colony to be inactive so it is paused in its current state. This is useful if the colonist doesn't want to play or wish to pause his colony suffering no risks.

His steem and sbd income are safe.

Let's Start!

@Amymya's Colony:

@amymya ventured into the forest to forage for edible stuff.

She found some berries, edible mushrooms, seaweed and even a bunch of mussels.

While she was foraging, she found a spot with the most beautiful flowers, and she has been selling them daily for a total income of 0.196 SBD and 0.017 STEEM this week.

Her colony has only one mouth to feed since she didn't hire a worker yet, but is that wise?

She came back to her colony with food that will last quite a bit for 1 settler (herself)

@anjkara went foraging for food, but didn't have luck.

On the other hand, she did notice it seems to be a prime spot for defense since she can spot whoever is approaching from all sides.

I'm going to add the question phase which starts right now!

  1. It seems like after you hire workers it takes them 1 full turn/week to even get started working, is that right? So even though i hired them last week, they start working now, and next week I'll actually get stuff from them.

  2. If i fire a worker now, then i assume i will get nothing from them even though i hired them last week? Or will I get production from them and next week they will be gone and i can hire someone else?

  3. On the action phase it says I can only choose one option - does that mean that if i order 5 miners to study new tech that i can't embark on a quest or order any other types of workers to study anything?

  4. One of the options in the action phase is "build". So does this mean that if I choose to build something in the colony phase I have to choose "build" as my one action in the action phase?

Sorry as always for all the questions but i'm still quite confused about how all of this works...it's holding me back from delegating more at this time.

Hey man! Cool questions.

  1. You order to hire on one turn, they start working the next one, resources processed the next one and subsequent. Correct.

  2. Fire a worker now and hire another you will still get the resources from the one you fired because they were upcoming. And you will have the new one start as if you would hire him normally.

  3. You can choose one for your (hero) the colonist. You can either choose one tech or perform an action.

  4. The "Build" option is if you want to build something with your hero. If you don't have a builder you have to build it yourself. If you have a builder then they'll build. These buildings are completed in 1 turn, but on more advanced ones you get more speed with more builders and you can choose to help them yourself. You'll be notified if a building takes longer than 1 week.

Thanks for the questions Matt... Good for another FAQs post.

thanks for asking these questions. I don't know how it all works either. I just assumed I'd hired a lazy worker :P

I choose for myself to forage for food.

I would also like to hire a lumberjack and have him harvest wood.

I will use my 5 wood and 5 stone to make the sweetest lean-to in all of the land, and then I will honor the death of the great @underground by eating a fine meal from the food I have foraged. Tonight I dine alone in his honor.

Noted!

Ok for this week

Fire one forager
Retain 1 forager - need to keep a steady supply of grub
Retain 1 lumber jack - need that fire to never go out and increase productivity
Hire 1 builder and build 1 lean-to - need some shelter and some privacy if one of the workers is a strapping red headed female that needs to burn off some excess energy and for morale.

Action Phase
Build fireplace using the skills that he acquired as a Boy Scout and toast some acorns and nuts found in the failed quest.

Head over to @derangedvisions to drink some Half and Half dark and pale ale in memory of @underground

We talk about how Undie as he liked bedding Tavern wenches that he bedded a ladyboy once and ran out of the room shouting as he told that the wench tried to stick it in him!!

ah good times, good times indeed.

He is now poop fertilzing the soil near the Natives' village and will help grow the trees that will become future cornerstone of the Empire.

Resource Phase:
Hi my trade with @irwanumpal was mixed up, i was selling the 3 stone to receive 3 wood.

Colony Phase:
I would like to use 5 wood and 5 stone to learn to build a shelter.
Send myself to forage food.

Action Phase:
Send my miner to mine stone.

Diplomacy Phase:
I also have a trade offer for anyone who is interested. I'm selling 5 stone in return i would like 2 food and 3 wood.

I hereby order one builder to build a lean-to (and it better be a good one!) and my other four builders are summoned to accompany me on a great quest to venture deep into the jungle and see if there are any indigenous peoples living nearby.

Out of character note/question - @spiritualmax please let me know if it's a good idea to take builders with me on a quest or if it's better to fire them and hire workers from the imperial outpost or 1 legionnaire...the legionnaire appears to cost 250 SP and have 5 defense which is the same as 5 workers so it doesn't make much sense why you would ever hire a legionnare but let me know if i'm missing something

I also send a raven with the following message to the imperial outpost:

To his majesty, the exalted Emperor,

I have been in contact with some wealthy aristocrats back home who may wish to invest great fortunes into my colony and to support the growth of this great empire; however, they feel that there is currently too much uncertainty surrounding this new land to warrant such an investment.

As such, I am looking to you to provide guidance and protection to help ensure the survival and success of my colony in order to address my investors' concerns. I look forward to your response and am deeply grateful for anything you may provide.

Your humble servant, @yabapmatt

OOC: Legionnaires have 5 defense, they are harder to kill, 5 workers would do the same stats wise but it's easy to have them die, plus Legionnaires can be trained to use weapons, you still don't have weapons but one day you'll have them. Taking the builders is a good idea as they aren't great but do add 5 defense.

Dear Yabapmatt,

As the most promising colony as of the date, the Empire is thrilled to have your enthusiasm and your investors' attention.

As such, I'm ordering @eonwarped to stop collecting taxes on your colony for 5 turns.

That will leave you with an income of 1 gold coin per turn, which you are fit to use to grease some palms.

Regards,
SpiritualMax

Dear Emperor SpiritualMax,

News of your generous offer has travelled quickly and investment into my colony and the new empire has increased 150%! I am looking forward to putting the new investment to good use in the coming weeks. Thank you very much for your support, and long live the empire!

Your humble servant, @yabapmatt

Dear Yabapmatt,

I find it that your rewards will please you.

Cheers

I would like to forage for resources.
Can I study the fauna while I forage for food?

I do this in the real world... The best way to know what you should be eating and not is to study what the animals are eating.

If another colony has a fire, can I warm up by it if they allow me?

Will you also clarify are the rewards listed above in terms of sbd and steem; it that just added to the daily payout?

Hey! After you return from foraging, feel free to pop by our place. No fire, but we'll have a superbly built lean-to and a few warm bodies.

Good luck finding some vittles!

Either Forage or go on a quest.

I would like to forage please.

Hmm since this is a game maybe you can respawn and start back to square 1

i call dibs on your resources!

No weapon crafted = unarmed :)

LMAO XD I know... you left all your guns at home, silly. Sorry I got you killed and eaten by cannibals :S

Here ye, here ye!

We, the Colony of Truthville, mourn the death of @underground. He was a fine agent, but now he is barbeque dinner for the cannibals. This is totally unacceptable. The cannibals will have to be dealt with, and @underground's death will not be for naught. His name will be cherished for all time. A true hero.

It has come to my attention that the singing lumberjack I hired may have been an illegal citizen of the Empire, and he may have been colluding with the cannibals. There are some who even say that his actions may be linked to jeopardizing the security of @underground on his mission, which ultimately caused this unfortunate death. This matter will be investigated. This could be fake news, but I can't take any chances with my closest advisers being so close to me and my family.

Lumberjack, YOU'RE FIRED!

My lumberjack will not be given his pension or food stamps. He will be exiled beyond the borders of our colony immediately, and I will not be aiding any other colonies offering him sanctuary status. One day I will build a great big wall, and it will defend our borders from cannibals, and we will have a great colony.

Until then, we will be cutting taxes, and bring new jobs to our colony next week. One new job opening specifically. That's a 100% increase from zero right now. It will be amazing. There will be no increase to the minimum wage, to keep taxes down. This week, I've decided to hire an Imperial Worker, who is properly vetted, hard working, eats less I hope, and it will be a temporary assignment. This Imperial Worker is going to build a lean-to for my colony, and it will be fantastic. You're gonna love it.

In the meantime, I'm going to bring food back to the colony. We're gonna put food on the table, and it will last us at least until the next budget meeting.

We're also opening trade relations with our neighbors. I'm taking tariffs off the table, so we can trade one-for-one any resource you want. If you want our wood, you can have it for a fair price. In return, we want imports of Chinese food. I've tried it, and it's very good. We'll also settle for fruits, berries, nuts, and acorns, or something just as good, as long as it isn't made from human flesh. We are pro-life, and always will be.

You may now return to your labors. Thank you.

Actions:

  • Fire Lumberjack, and Hire a temporary Imperial Worker to Build: Lean-To
  • Forage for Food
  • Diplomacy: Offering one-to-one trade of up to 5 lumber in exchange for food. Any player.

here at N.B.M farms and Forager inc.

we are THE best at forager acorns and all the best goodis.
We have just started our services, so we dont have a completely overview
of the warehouse facilities just yet.
but we are interested in and making greats deal in the future.

looking forward to the cooperation
ceo. norwegianbikeman

I always loved Norwegians. They are nice people.

Diplomacy: Trade 1 lumber for 1 food with @norwegianbikeman.

Hope that helps you build something nice.

excellent

Best Comment Ever :D

Lol

I would very much like to build a lean-to in a high-up place to make sure that I won't get flooded when it rains. I'd prefer to build it in a bit sheltered place, so that natives wouldn't find it immediately (scared of the cannibals).

Is there a way for me to scout out my immediate surroundings (aka looking around) to see if there's a spot maybe near a mountain where I can build my lean-to against, whilst still hidden? Being against a mountain would also help keep my food cold and dry so it doesn't spoil!

Your colony is static, the picture represents it, you already have a spot chosen. Building the lean-to it is!

Ah alright, just wanted to make sure I don't get any unfortunate events ^^. Thanks for clearing it up!

With 205SP unused, @frank1in has the choice to hire:
4 Lumberjack;
4 Forager;
4 Miner;
4 Builder;

May I take on the delegation to myself: 1 Lumberjack, 1 Forager, 1 Miner, 1 Builder ?
After that I need b) to Forage for Food; and to order to workers to begin the production.

Sure!
Noted!

Choose One:

a) Embark on a Quest;
b) Forage for Food; I will send one of my men to forage for food.
c) Mine for Stone;
d) Harvest Wood; If I can send my second he will go chop down some wood to help build a fire!
e) Build;

Diplomacy Phase:

Player Side:
Feel free to strike deals with other players.

LOOKING FOR FOOD! WILL TRADE 1-1 RATION OF WOOD OR STONE!!

Native Side:
First Contact Quest Needed

( I will also like to start this quest if that's available )

Underground just died doing it. You sure?

Jesus christ! Sounds lethal.. so his village has gone up in flames then? Or is he still in the world?

I could definitely go study the fauna though and gain some knowledge of what is in the wilderness!

He is no longer in game, read his part, Imperial Outpost is dividing his resources next turn. His sbd and steem rewards are unnafected of course, but he isn't playing anymore for now.

OMG I will not be risking my life in the unknown with just my little group of men..Optimist sometimes I am but also a realist.. I will stay at home searching for food, rocks, and wood!

I think I got to build basic shelter first. That will take up all I have, so no trading this week...
Can I hire a builder to do that for me while I go foraging some more food?

If you have the 50 SP available, you can.

action phase : Forage for Food

Noted!

@underground was cooked and eaten?? I am feeling so hungry... I will forage for food

Noted!

I will like to hire a miner.
And I like to build a Basic Shelter: 5 Wood, 5 Stone)

Can i build the basic shelter and also harvest more wood? Does my forager just continue foraging? Anyone want to trade wood for stone?

He continues foraging unless you order him to do otherwise. You can hire workers if you have the unused SP for it.

ok I will continue harvesting wood and then hire a builder to build the basic shelter.

Noted!

If i delegate 100 more sp can i buy a person who specializes in food production?

A Forager specializes in food production.... a farmer is 1000 SP

Ill build a lean to and will send messages to neighbors about pooling sp for a farmer. I do not trust venturing outside the encampment with the cannibals.

Noted. However, you can't share settlers.

Darn. Ill risk my other settler and do study fauna quest.

I love mussels! I found awesome foodstuffs :)
I want to build a lean to now please, so I can have a nap :)

Hiya CE -- lovin' this game :D

Colony & Action

I'll hire

  • 3 builders – start building lean-to and fireplace
  • 4 foragers – get food
  • 1 legionnaire – protect camp
  • 1 lumberjack – get wood

Can we eat @underground's food (I'm his overlord)? Failing that can we eat what's left of his body seeing as he's not going to be using it? Sorry Undie :S

@amymya and @dawnsheree do youz wanna swap some food for wood/stone? :D

Next Week you'll know what happens to Undie's resources.

builders, foragers and lumberjacks are 50 unused SP each. Legionnaire is 250 SP... so that order would cost 600 SP.

Ah ok.

Oops, quick maths :P

Can I have 1 builder and 2 foragers instead :D

Noted!

I'd love to swap. ^^

The DoEMaAC and I are in gratitude of his Imperial Lord's kindness.
We vow to do the Emperor's bidding upon this new land.

Resource Phase:
To acquire and fortify more resources!

Colony Phase:
The DoEMaAC enlist a woodcutter into our community.

Action Phase:
a) Our new woodcutter will forage for food, and learn the new forest where he will soon be put to work harvesting wood.
b) Our miner will continue to mine for more stones.
c) I, @cyber.explorer, will stay at camp and build a fireplace (? and a lean-to ?) to welcome our new settlers and keep them warm and safe, and to prepare them for their upcoming adventures.
(* * ? @SpiritualMax, Am I able to send these settlers out on quests or foraging runs in future rounds ? * *)

Diplomacy Phase:
After the Imperial Outpost takes their first pick from our outstanding stone production, I am willing to trade (for a fair price) any surplus stones, among our fellow colonists, in exchange for food and/or protection.

Glory to the Empire,
and long live the Emperor!

Your settlers can be used to do every task, except going on quests alone... if they accompany you, they can, but they need the colonist to accompany them.

I need Shelter! I'll build a shelter for me and I want to make deals with @amymya! ♥

Am lovin' this game. ♥

Once again totally love this idea and game. I've scoured through everyone's actions and noticed a few things I am extrapolating and using to make my next decision, it is only my educated assumption so take it or leave it.

It appears food consumption is going to be high and foragers seam to acquire less food that other trades on a per turn basis.
I was originally going to get a second miner to counter the poor location, but in the end I have chosen to get two additional foragers and 1 builder.

I will keep the miner mining and the lumberjack getting lumber. I will send the 2 new forager's foraging. And the I will trust the builder with the less critical task of the fire, while I myself will undertake the construction of the lean-to.

I have also done some supply budgeting and hope to have enough food for my ongoing needs, so I will set up a stand and give away my surplus 1 food this round to the first other colony that is "very hungry"

@creativetruth is very hungry. Will you trade for 1 lumber this turn? This first turn was hard, not knowing how hard food was going to be to find, and how important it will be.

Yes or course, We will send our food over directly to Truthville!
May truth prevail (or whatever you guys say over there)

Make the Empire Great Again!

Deal!

We won't forget your kind brotherhood.

Smart Man!

Now that the builder and I have some food in our bellies I head to the Imperial Outpost to Hire a LUMBERJACK and send the Builder (his name is Sven) to build the lean-to for our shelter. We won't have enough wood for a fire, but we'll make a Carrie sandwich.😎

Once the lumberjack (Thomas) and I are acquainted we decide some diplomacy is in order and head into the forest in search of neighboring tribes we've heard about. Thomas brings his axe... just in case.

On the way out we run into @royaleagle and let him know he's welcome to stay in our lean-to and snuggle if he doesn't get any better offers after a day of foraging. 😍

Colony Phase: Hire Thomas, the LUMBERJACK
Action Phase: Sven, the BUILDER does his thang and creates a LEAN-TO
Diplomacy Phase: Thomas (the Lumberjack) and I head out on QUEST #1 to find some Natives.

Woah

Since that bear scared the shit our of me, i better build some shelter.. At least bears don't knock down doors... or do they?

Action:
Build Lean-to (Basic Shelter: 5 Wood, 5 Stone)

Noted!

I'm going to hire:

  • 2 lumberjack
  • 1 forager
  • 1 builder

I'm going to start building a shelter for myself.

I would like to build a shelter this turn please. Let my forester and forager continue their tasks.
