the biggest benefits people have from good articles or posts
are the ones that will specifically google or search these articles.
now when the voting is closed and no further payouts can happen
basically steemit takes all the benefits of the original poster and he has no additional benefits.
so unless you write crap & push it so it gets upvoted quickly there is no reason for people
who write articles that are really of high value to other people to write them here.
when i write something on my blog i can benefit from those hits forever into the future. not so on steemit.
one thing which would be highly valuable also is if you could see where the visitors on your posts are coming from .. like a stats page. cause if i see one article doing well i might add a link to promote a book related to that article for example etc.

post it twice, here and at your blog.

you are right.. but i still think its a bit unfair.. you can link to your blog from here though... ;-) double content is not so liked by google.. so we will see if that strategy would work

Since many items at first disappear in the crowd and be found until later, many authors might lose interest in the post.

not sure what you mean but i think the biggest value comes when people seek it later. If i see steemit overrun by crap without creating value i don't see how bloggers. especially not the bloggers with traction & fans already will stay here.

Isn't this technical impossibility? How can the Steem blockchain can keep track of transactions for all posts indefinitely? There has to be a cap off point somewhere.

you might be right... but one could limit upvotes to the ones who actually give money instead of allowing so many spam bots upvote at 0.00 then the blockchain wouldnt become so bloated maybe. but i dont know anything about blockchain technology. maybe its impossible

I kind of agree to an extent, but at the same time this isn't really a blogging platform, its more like a Reddit style social content sharing site - which always emphasises a fast turn around of trending content rather than permanent useful posts anyway.

i have never ever gained something from reddit unless if i happened to find it through google. maybe two or three times in my life. i saw this more like a blogging platform but i think you are right. so far i have not gained anything from steemit except a few hundred bucks because dan upvoted it. i haven't seen one post which made my life better.

One work around would be to re-post old stuff, see if it gets traction differently.

no. thats not what i meant.. thats the same game again.
the way it works right now is like publishers telling authors your books earnings just hold value for 2 days.. after that anything thats sold goes to us... doesn't make any sense.
i think its a problem and needs to be fixed if there is to be longterm value in steemit posts. i am actually already thinking of a way to fix this issue on my own website http://www.duno.com

i am not getting tired really by steem. i think its good in general. but i think some big issues for it to last long need to be fixed. i think the unlimited upvoting is one of them. one possibility would be that when people upvote later it goes from their own personal account rather than through inflation

If you catch a whale , people always talks about how to catch a whale but can you really catching one of them ?
Upvoting always an issue here we feel unfaur , we feel like we giving our best , we write good contents but why no whales upvoting it ? Look at your post are ypu happy with that upvote ? To me i will consider its a so-so situation , you win you lose , you win from voting but losing in earning , why we in steemit ? Ofcourse to making money right . im not greedy type of person if 10 dolphin upvoting my post per day i will be so grateful. Dont you ?

i am not waiting for a big upvote.. i am discussing totally different situation here. i am not here for the money. i am talking about rewarding authors well into the future for their work
