Bitcoin price was $3000 but it suddenly dropped to $2395 nearly dropping $600 in worth has effected Steem Dollar and Steem changing Steem rank from 13 to 15 and -16.23% drop rate losing its value from $2.8 to $1.9.

Well in some way Steem will always be linked to BTC as you have to exchange it to BTC first before you can cash out. As long as this doesn't change it will go down and up with BTC
