It would be nice to think of Steemit adequately rewarding quality content, but I came to the conclusion that frequent posting tend to be better strategy, at least if the steady stream of upvotes is your main aim. And in my particular case, I favour frequent posting simply for the sheer amount of material I'm planning to post.

I agree. It would be nice if by putting in big effort in 1 piece of content you could get rewarded more then by posting every day low effort content, but that isnt true really. There seems to be a cap on what you can earn if you arent one of the community leaders or are influential on Steem.
That is unfortunate because it discourages high effort content and encourages posting as much as you can to collect the support from autovotes or move away from content creation into politics and making friends.
