What's up everyone. It's been a long time since I posted. I'm sorry. Life has been crazy, and just not the best lately. Recently I decided to find my way back to the block chain that I've used the most. However getting here, I found it fractured into 2 sides, 2 coins, and 2 websites.
Are other people just posting onto both platforms? Is one of the platforms bad and they don't deserve my contributions and time?
How is Justin Sun as an owner compared to Ned Scott? What do you guys think of Hive and dantheman (Hensley)?
What are the pluses and minuses of Steemit now, and what are the pluses and minuses of Hive?
Any help or advice would be appreciated. I'm glad to be back to posting on the blackchain and I hope life has been good for you all!

Welcome back! I had noticed that you were absent. Glad to see you again.
The Hive witnesses took my stake during the split because I had voted for witnesses in both factions in a futile bid to encourage separation of powers and use checks & balances to prevent either side from harming the chain any further. Needless to say, after being stripped of my stake over there, I'm only active here now.
I lost a great deal of respect for many of the Hive leaders during the hostilities, but if I hadn't lost my stake, I'd probably be supporting both chains because many of the people who I previously enjoyed interacting with went over there.
To me, the big revelation of all the hostilities is that DPoS, as implemented, is not a safe governance protocol for investors, and Hive is making it worse. In the next hard fork, they're building a 30-day period into their protocol before a new investor can vote in order to make sure they can defang any future investors who don't meet the approval of the power brokers. It's an implicit acknowledgement that they fully plan to remove other investors' stakes in the future. (to be fair, stake-removal happened on this side, too...)
From what I can tell, JS hasn't been any more active than Ned was with Steem, but Steemit has been a lot more engaged since the acquisition. They have been actively curating and recently announced a planned partnership with Tron's new DEFI platform (JUST). No ideas about the details of that partnership, though.
