What is really happening to SBD price and the Steem blockchain as a whole?

Hello steemians! first let me start by giving a big shout out to all my followers for their support, and I also want to use this medium to apologize for my in-activeness in steemit. Actually I decided to take a short break to prepare for an exam I just finished writing last week Friday. Well for as many of you that have been missing my articles, be happy for I'm back with a greater Steeming momentum.

Why is steem price falling?

Over the past few weeks, the price of steem has constantly been falling as leaves by the storms in their season thinned, where no one knows where it will settle, as it has always been going contrary to predictions made.

If it's SBD, i am not surprised about the the price fall. I expected it, as it was stated in the steem white paper that SBD will be pegged to 1USD so as to avoid getting into problem as proven by the law of impossible Trinity, which i will explain in details in my upcoming posts.

But is that what is currently happening to the price of SBD? I doubt, because I can't comprehend how stabilising SBD price will affect steem price negatively. At this point I can't help but to conclude that this is happening as a result of the latest happenings (rewards pool abuse) in the steem block chain.

If you've been exploring the steemit community then this shouldn't come as a surprise to you. I never wanted to talk about this because I don't blame @haejin for what he's doing because if we're to look at it from a sincere perspective, you'll discover that 80% if not 99% of steemians power up so as to increase their earning in the block chain.

And I guess that's what @haejin is actually doing by self upvoting himself. And believe me or not there are other whales out there doing just the same thing or even worst but they are just too smart to be caught. Note! Contrary to what you may think I am not trying to criticize the whales just because I'm not yet one, in fact I'll also do same if I were had as much SP as they do. The only thing I don't support is the idea of them upvoting only their post. By doing this they deprive the block chain of being decentralized.

Although the founders of this great platform @ned and @dan tried preventing this by limiting our voting power and limiting one user to an upvote (i.e making it impossible for a user to upvote a post twice) to prevent abusing the rewards pool. But i think they missed out something by not limiting the amount of STEEMPOWER a user can hold as well. I mean what do they expect by allowing a user hold as much as over 1,000,000 SP. For a user to have such that user probably have over 70% of steemit in his/her possesion?

Let's take ranchorelaxo for example he has over 1,000,000 SP and rumors have risen that this account is owned by @haejin because he does nothing in steemit but to upvote @haejin's posts. This selfish act by whales has deprived steemit from its claim of being decentralized.

Many of my friends I invited to steemit have left because they weren't getting the rewards they felt they deserved. They couldn't bear the fact seeing all the rewards going to some specific accounts, they pegged steemit to be a waste of time and money. But are they really right when they said that? I doubt and I don't want to believe that. That's why I'm still here believing what they said are all false, and I pray I don't find a reason to believe.

What are the possible solutions to this?

Many have engaged in a flag battle to bring down the crypto analyst @haejin but to no avail, this didn't work. One of steem founders @dan also down voted @haejin to show his disapproval for what @haejin is doing, and some are calling out on @ned to flag the steemian as well. But I don't see this to be a solution either. And besides it will be unprofessional for the founders of such a wonderful platform to engage in a fight with its users.

My suggestions are.

Well I'm not sure if it's possible because of the complexity of the block chain, but if it is the developers should consider.

  • Limiting the number of self votes a day.
  • Limiting the number of paid accounts that can also be created, because users can split their SP into different accounts and self upvote a post with all their accounts.
  • Limiting the amount of STEEMPOWER that can be held by an account, preferably by the sum total of all accounts created by a user.

Disclaimer: These are just my thoughts and opinion I may be wrong but if you have an idea that can help fix these issues Please consider sharing it with us as this might get to @ned or any other influential steemian or witness

My Final Cry to all steemians.

Please lovely steemians! Let us stop the fight in steemit as this won't head anywhere. Please let's not turn steemit into a warzone where people are voting up and down. Let's all help build a real community, where people engage selflessly in other people's post, a community where people get rewarded as they ought to. Let's stop this flagging fight as this will do nothing but change the goal of steemit, and cause Steemians to quit.

Ok let's assume this fight continues and continues to leave until you're the only one left in the platform. Will you be happy? Would you feel fulfilled? Who will upvote you? Who will give you feedbacks? Who will read your posts?

Ok let's say you have over 5,000,000 SP to self upvote yourself but how much will you be able to cash out, because the price of SBD and STEEM would probably be below $0.0000001 because there is no demand for SBD. You're the only one make demanding. And I'm certain you'll quit as well, making the steem an history. So please let's give this a thought.
