26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.(Mathew 8:24-26) "
Dear reader, i don't know about you, all i know is you did not come across this post by chance. When i look at you, i see storms. It could be your business that’s failing, it could be in your work place, or may be in your family, it could be outside or within you; depression or stress.
Somehow life hasn't been fair to you. your university examinations are due and you just don't know where your tuition will come from, may be your children are home cause you have not paid their school bills, could be your house rent is due and you are not sure of this month’s salary...or may be outside this, but still it’s not well with your soul!!
I can see you have long prayed but like before, the sky of your hopes is ever gathering clouds and never shiny, it’s always beckoning more storm. Somehow you have been forced to wonder if really God cares. And if he does, how comes it seems he is not there!
Often life's afflictions war against out salvation. If you are not strong you may find your dream boats sinking in the rocky waters of damnation!! Yet brethren, why your prayers seem unanswered is not a question whose answers you should seek from far. How strong is your faith??
The apostles of Jesus Christ, while sailing in the same boat with our lord, in sight of storms were worried, even though it is impossible that any boat with Jesus can sink!!! They were filled with fear, just like you are, they were worried just like you are, and they were hopeless just like you are. Before calming the storm he marveled at their little faith on seeing how a fried they were,“You of little faith, why are you so afraid?"
The reason you’re still scared of stormy seas is: may be your still sailing on your own; you have not welcomed Jesus to sail with you in the boat of salvation; you have not accepted him as your personal load and savior or possibly you have, but still you haven't worked on your faith. Think about it.
Allow Jesus to sail with you in the boat of salvation. Cast your burdens unto him for he cares for you, only Jesus can calm your storms.
