why post rewards are so uneven?

my last post https://steemit.com/steem/@enable/how-many-is-my-upvote-worth has 11 votes and earn only $0.05 but https://steemit.com/steem/@cryptorune/discussion-how-much-you-like-steem has 10 votes and earn $82.29 -- why someone else's post earns 1600x more than me!?!?!

hovering or clicking on a post should tell why post is getting the amount it is

Depends on how much steem power voters have.

I wish @dantheman upvotes my post! :P

My understanding is that there are two factors which determine how much an upvote is worth:

  • Steem Power of the voter
  • Frequency with which the voter has recently voted

The first is to prevent spam by creating hundreds of shills and having them all upvote your posts (sybil attack). The second is to prevent spam by purchasing a large stake, powering up, and flooding the network with posts which you upvote with your large Steem Power.

The reason why is because the voters with the most steempower receive it because they have promised to lock up x amount of steem for 2 years, making it so they cannot sell large portions of their locked away stake. Due to this added risk, one would assume this entices people to lock away large amounts of their stake in return for voting stake (which essentially enables you to throw magic crypto gold at users who you think produce quality content).

So if someone can make a post go up by nearly $100 from their upvote, it is because they have locked away a lot of steem (probably over $40k worth --guessing). So that person is someone you would probably want to enjoy your posts :D

guessing

lulz

fuzzyvest : $37,219.51

:D
I actually was guessing...but looks like I was pretty dang close eh?!

I just found steem but I think the person who upvotes is what matters.
What I mean is different people might have different voting power.
Maybe how much steem you have decides that I am not sure.
Can someone with more knowledge enlighten us?

As @dantheman said, those with more Steem Power (vested STEEM) have more voting power which may result in higher rewards when they vote. Does that make sense?

maybe its not upvotes that pay?
