Today, a very active thread on HN ("Hacker News" ) was quietly and quickly removed.
It links to a well-sourced article about the woman who ran a black site (extreme torture) and destroyed the evidence before Congress could see it, who was just given access to all our dick pics was flagged and removed in record time. Many reasonable and well-sourced comments were down-voted and flagged for no apparent reason. The story was labelled "drivel" and "too political" by astroturfers, and a HN mod made fantastic contortions to explain why the original post should remain flagged (for causing "outrage" (holy fuck).
A post about this censorship was flagged in less than an hour, after breaking out very quickly. A HN moderator made snarky comments, calling the discussion "creating drama".
So! It got me thinking - I'd like to ask you all to share your best examples of Steemit articles making a difference, and getting important shit heard. I've heard a lot about Steemit's resistance to censorship, but I'd love to see some concrete examples of it having made a difference already. It would really lighten my mood after the disturbing events I witnessed today.
Thanks guys,
