After almost 24 hrs the price of steem is still up. In fact it's up about $.30 since the above post.
According to CoinMarketCap Crypto is doing pretty good. It would seem that they have all recovered from the shock of South Korea. The markets show mostly all green.

Seems to me that @ned's recent announcement came at a very fortuitous time when Steem was flirting with going below $1.00 for the first time since the late spring...
