The State of Steem: 2 Feb 2018, 5:15pm (Texas Time)

Let's keep this in perspective
.......................................................................................................................................................................
Steem is not even two years old
Lookit what it's done in that time

Steem

Steem launched in April of 2016...and didn't do much until July. Then it launched (for whatever reason) and peaked at (wait for it....) a little over FOUR DOLLARS.

Then it began a decline (for what ever reason), from August of 2016 until May of 2017 it was under ONE DOLLAR!
For much of that time it was less than ten cents.

In May it increased to a little over a dollar...then in June it increased to ALMOST three dollars. Then it declined to about a buck again...until December. We got a christmas present. The price increased to a little over three dollars..then when Trump was sworn into office it increaded to EIGHT DOLLARS.

Since then the price has gone down..up..and down..but only rarely has it decreased below it's previous high in July.

If you check out the history of

BitCoin

You'll see something similar. Note the early peak..then a decline...then a drastic increase?

Ethereum

Ripple

BitCoin Cash

They all have much in common. They all started of slow..some had an 'ICO' bump...some didn't...but it wasn't until Trump took office that crypo's EXPLODED!

Steem has been doing rather well. It's retains half of it's peak price and doesn't appear to be going much lower.
So perhaps it's not time to panic just yet.

Today
(after the memo was made public)

Everything looks mostly green

Of course Trump had nothing to do with it.
Just imagine how much better it would have been if the Kenyan was still President.
yeah...just imagine.

Look how it was when he WAS president.

I'm sure it's just co-incidental.

Thanks for posting these graphs. This is honestly the information I've been looking for over these past couple days. After hearing everyone talk about the volatility of the crypto currency value, I got really curious as to its historical trends over the past few years. Does anyone know what these spikes and drops are correlated with?!

not off hand other than the one big one on Jan 1 2018..which would be President Trump Inauguration.
The market rilly, rilly likes Trump.

That's so interesting. Maybe I should try to synchronize my investments with every piece of legislation he signs then lol

I've heard of worse strategies.

Steem has held up quite well in comparison to other altcoins.

That's a good indication in my opinion.

Steem and SBD are resilient cryptos.

not only that but they have real value attached to them.
at the present Steemit competes with FaceBook and Reddit. Zapl with Twitter, DTube with YouTube...the list goes on...BUT...on Steemit you get paid...(doesn't happen on the other social platforms)

BUT WAIT...when SMTs arrive (real soon now)
STEEM will then be able to do anything that Ethereum can do.

the prospects are staggering.

it is a crypto Rollercoaster.
I like rides that sometimes have surprises. As you indicated, its a long Hodl with steem, with 700k on board, 65k active users and growing, ..lots of folks are vested here and will do what is nessarary.
I feel good.
The Prez might be releasing the maga coin soon....or has he??

THAT would be a very good idea.
Convert the dollar..to the crypto-dollar.
dissolve the FED.
Free Market.
Win-win.

If it could just settle around 6 dollars that would be great....

I'll leave it with ya..

ITs incredible , imagine in 2 years or even 5? I think my retirement is going to be set

man , i am afraid , the cryptocurrency is goin to the sh%&t, when this gone to stop ?

Ya man it's a pretty high risk investment. Some people have become rich, but many have lost tons of money.

No, this is not the time to panic! Especially not with STEEM. Its post-exuberance trough, which is has pulled out of, is the test that separates the big cryptos from the also-rans.

STEEM has passed that test: passed it with flying colours.

Very interesting... Thanks for explaining it anf showing the other graphs

By Jove I think you might be RIGHT!

A pessimist sees the difficulty in a problem while an optimist see the the problem solving technique. Steemit will rise again

I'm bearish on the future of bitcoin and a lot of other cryptos but I expect sbd and steem to do well.

Very good comparison and analysis of the behavior of Steem and other cryptocurrencies; and the best thing is your opinion of not going into panic yet. Hopefully improve the behavior. And well, the detail associated with the two presidents is great; very good detail
